What tyres you rocking bro? Me? Bridgestone S21. First time I've used them. Cheap as chips and as sticky as a pub carpet.

Enjoy dude. Sounds like it's scorchio for another week or so. Will be a blast on a lazy torque monster.
I'm off to Cornwall but sadly no motorbikes involved. I'll be lucky if I make it Scarborough.

If you're staying in Wick, McKays is the only hotel worth a fuck. Eat at McKays or Bord de L'eau (you need to book but it's tremendous). The Indian is also decent. The Wolfburn distillery is signposted as you approach Thurso (from the west). You can self-fill from the barrel for £70. Old Pulteney in Wick is also worth a visit. The young girl temping for summer is currently dishing out free samples like there's no tomorrow. Dunnet Head is worth a visit. The road over to Applecross is incredible but the hairpins are lethal. Have an awesome time. I've never been up the far north west but it's meant to be incredible.

I'm riding less and less on the road nowadays, but my new job "up North", the kids' summer holidays and my wife's 100% remote post covid work situation has allowed us to rent an Airbnd in the Basque Country for a few weeks. I have to go into the office and didn't want to leave them without a car all day so I rode my bike here.
Jesus christ, it's been many years since I rode 300 miles in one go! I left Madrid at 3 pm last friday in the baking sun and honestly I'd only just been on the bike for 40 minutes and could see the ETA on the GPS and I almost turned round and went home, thinking that it was crazy and I would melt or otherwise burn out before getting half way there.
But after the first tank of gas, the heat having subsisded a bit and the roads a bit more interesting it didn't seem so bad. A fuse blew about 20kms from my destination leaving me with no dash display, indicators, rear light or brake light, but apart from that the old GSXR did OK as a tourer! I even fitted a USB charger and a phone mount for Google Maps! I am officially old!
Some great roads around here, the trouble is the humidity, lots of damp patches where you don't want them.... oo-er.

Weather looked excellent.

I did it May 2019 and loved it, quite roads and great weather…would do it anti-clockwise next time though, save the best for last. This looks good too, if you want to do something other than the NC500 www.cloverleaf.scot

In all seriousness, the hospitality of the Scottish is absolutely on point. Sure, they're probably calling us all cunts behind our backs, but to our faces they're a wonderful bunch.
Still shite at football though.

A week this coming Friday, I will be heading of for short tour around Devon with some mates, riding around Exmoor and Dartmoor on Saturday, before heading home on Sunday. I haven't been to that part of the UK for quite sometime and that was for family holidays, so it'll be nice to see it from a riding perspective.
