Not sure if it was this thread where videoing track rides was mentioned, but whatever, my first track day post-Covid produced only poor front facing videos from the clocks forwards which were frankly mind-numbing to watch. But a few weeks ago I went again and experimented a bit with the camera location, strapping it to the swing-arm under the exhaust. I only managed to get two sessions recorded thanks to a dodgy SD card but there is one lap where you can just about see the knee down action, although its not the best lap of Jarama ever by a long shot. Its not even my best lap of Jarama by quite a handful of seconds, but if you want to be a cunt and take the piss, here it is, fill yer boots.

Nice. I take it thats the pillion's peg and you do have 2 feet. I think you're looking at the rear brake lever (not used in the entire lap). My right foot (still attached to my leg) is on the peg further back and out of shot. The perspective of the chinese GoPro copy is a bit iffy it has to be said.

I was worried you were a right short arse and unable to reach the pegs.

Got the photos through yesterday from the track day. Looking through them with my boy he says "isn't your video camara scraping the ground in that one?" Zooming it, it sure looked like it, so I got the camera out of the bag and sure enough, I've ground the corner off the waterproof housing so that's that fucked. I guess it was a stupid place to put it with hindsight. Good photo though I reckon! I need to improve my upper body movement though, I still keep my head too close to the centreline of the bike.

Arse of the seat a bit more and your head more towards where the mirror would be, but it whatever you're comfortable with...
... BTW, that is a really tidy looking K5.

The arse / seat thing would probably come as a result of the upper body shift I think. I did the course earlier this year with a guy who I though was a good guide and he said we should be holding the inner clip-on like it was a screwdriver and reaching over the tank with the other arm. Makes sense, and I think that's what I'm doing when I'm out there, but when I see the photos, it's nowhere near as pronounced as it feels. To be fair, the corner where I thought I was getting it most sussed didn't get photoed, so maybe it's not my best corner stylewise. I have another day booked end of August so I'll get another chance to practice soon enough. Might be scorchio though. Thanks for the comment on the bike. It is a good looker, but I've tried to trade it in twice recently, once for an L6 750 and again for a 675R and both times they've shown me the door... too old, too many miles, no FSH... not interested. Never mind, I like it really so I'll keep it for a bit longer, possibly until it dies (or I kill it)!

Looking good Phil! But where is that? They say that the run off areas are short at Jarama but those tyre walls are unnervingly close to the track!

Its a tight twisty track more suited to a 600 supermoto than the GSXR1000 I had at the time. I think that corner was one of the hairpins. The tyre wall was far enough away iirc, cant say I noticed it as an problem at the time. Only the last corner was a bit too close for comfort..
