South Africa is moving towards being an utter shithole so no real problem with it not being on the calendar. Teams would probably all get jacked and murdered anyway. If security teams can't stop the F1 lot getting robbed in Brazil then WSB would have no hope.

Loyalty and morals seems a bit thin on the ground in bike racing these days.

I think both ELav and Forres will be wondering WTF. Are there any rides left for 2019?
The last time SMR & BWM got together was in 2016 with Brookes and Reiterberger and they finished 14th and 16th. Sounds like the factory have got interested again, hence Reiterberger. Last time they were heavily involved their best was Melandri 3rd in the standings. If they dont pull their weight, Sykes move from where he was is going to look pretty daft.

I feel sorry for Eugene. Tom Sykes is not a progressive step.

Tom Sykes is a beard wanker. The key to being fast in motorsport is be clean shaven and no silly haircuts. No baldness either. Look at Scott Redding - fast when young and normal, slower as he's got sillier and sillier facial and head hair. BSB has a higher tolerance for stupid haircuts and the like given Brookes double with that stupid facial hair. Laverty clearly has lost his ride due to his Mansell. Sponsors don't want a Mansell.
Even Biaggi suffered baldness speed loss. Look how he went onto take 2 WSB titles with a hair transplant.
As regards the Melandri thing, he could have won in 2012 if not for his spectacular collapse of 4 DNFs in a row. That was perhaps the last time he was really on it. He's been patchy ever since and for whatever reason when he's on it , the Ducati shakes like fuck at high speed.

Is that much rumoured Yamaha satellite team still on the cards for Marco? Possible seat ELav if so.

Is that much rumoured Yamaha satellite team still on the cards for Marco? Possible seat ELav if so. The team was being built around Marco, then he suddenly fancied Moto America which makes you wonder about the team and what he may know.

BMW could be a poisoned chalice. I remember Brookes complaining bitterly about feel & throttle connection. BMW like to go their own way with electronics so we will probably end up with a traditional Sykes whinge fest mid season.

It's a strange decision. It's been a long time since Tom looked like he was putting anything like 100% in whereas Eugene clearly has, as the crashes show.
There's a long line of riders wanting the second Honda now, they'll be paying our old mate Chris Pike to ride for him rather than the other way around. It'll do Camier good to have a decent team mate.

What rides are actually available for 2019? Ten Kate Honda and?

Ducati probably need some decent privateers on V4's to accelerate development. Surprised one didn't come Elav's way because of his analytical skills and the fact he gets on with Gigi.

The motorsport merry-go-round is often unfair and sadly rides aren't given on merit once you get past prime factory rides. Then again look at Petrucci lucking out with a full factory Ducati which is undeserved imo.
You've got to wonder how much more there is to come from standard homologated WSB machines. There's obviously going to be this disconnect between crap like Euro 4 etc and what goes on at the race track. Surely at some point the bikes will level out and bikes like the Kwak won't destroy everyone and it'll be fairer. Even the 1000cc sports market is supposedly shrinking and I guess, like the 600s, there's only so much development they'll chuck at stuff that doesn't sell.
