Well it's been a fucking shitey year but the end is in sight. In a few months we'll all be jagged up with astrid enemas and we'll be getting buckled in Wetherspoons and feeling up strangers again.
But what will you take from lockdown into freedom town? What new skill did you learn? Were you a lucky recipient of a coveted divorce? Did you finally get round to building that Fritzl bunker? Maybe you took the Fred West online builders course? Or did you develop a taste for something exotic like crack cocaine or domestic violence?
Share your new happy with the group.

I went back to school and again and wrote about the rain forest and invertebrates.

I went back to school and again and wrote about the rain forest and invertebrates. Then you'll eat the little fuckers and start a new pandemic!

The only thing that the lockdown did for me was make my fitness worse, especially the one we're in at the moment. I was working from home before all of this anyway so it made no odds other than stop my gym sessions and MMA training. So to answer the original question, the one thing that I gained from all of this is extra body fat and possibly type 2 diabetes.

I thought about learning to play a musical instrument or learn a language in more detail than holiday requirements. Neither happened. In March 2020 I had put on a 2-3 of kilos as I hadnt been windsurfing or swimming for a couple of months. With lockdown 1 I thought without doing some exercises at home in lockdown I would get really unfit and put on more weight. So I started doing online fitness sessions every day and have stuck with them ever since. I think I'm in better shape than I have been for 15 years. Just 30-45 minutes a day. Doing a weekly shop and only buying essential food helped. No pork pies or booze etc.

I think at the start of lockdown last year, some fat cunts actually did some exercise and ate less because of decent weather and the occasional bare shelf.
This winter lockdown was different as shit weather and greggs is open.

I got a mint new job that I probably wouldn't have got if it wasn't for the shift to remote working, so that's nice.
As a side effect, I am fitter as I get more time to exercise.
I also haven't had a cigarette in well over a year now (I had "officially" given up before, but used to have a crafty couple at work during the day, and on work trips would smoke a packet in two days, but all that has obviously stopped!)
Not being able to drive to many places also means that beer intake has gone up too (that's a positive in my book by the way).

Like Spents, I can barely see my boaby. Just the tip really. It's like a one-eyed bratwurst trying to crawl over a space hopper. In fact, Spents can probably see more of my boaby than I can. Winter shutdown with no cycling and no gyms just led to more drinking and apathy toward life in general.
Anyway, sun's oot, time to get back on it.
Lockdown wins for me have been boring work related stuff. Writing up procedures for local cunts to do stuff I can't travel to do. Not that easy when you've spent years learning how to do something and then spitting out a step-by-step guide for some cunt that's never clapped eyes on the equipment before. It will probably mean less travel for me, particularly to Ireland but Brexit has massively fucked that up anyway.

I started a new job as lockdown began, off the tools in estimating. Found it a bit strange but challenging, and after a couple of months working from home had a 40 mile each way commute which was strange but challenging. Early December i got the you are no longer required conversation due to covid etc. Got a start with a local company who design and manufacture lights, big wage drop and going on shifts next month. Back on the tools and you know what, happiest I’ve been in years. Thanks covid. Down side to covid is witnessing the decline of my dad. He lived alone and was always on the go but isolation was brutal for him and after a 2 month spell in hospital he passed away two weeks ago. Must be hundreds like him who couldn’t cope with it. Get the jab this Friday. Thank fuck.

Sorry to hear that Pants. You had mentioned a few times that you were worried about your old man so this must have been particularly difficult. Feel for anyone who's lost someone over the past year. Hope to fuck that zoom funerals are one thing we can fucking bin.

Sorry about that Pants. Life is a cunt sometimes.
I still think a number of people are going to try and hang onto lockdown even when they vaccine push is over. Some cunts at my place as almost point blank refusing to come in. It's full of odd fuckers anyway but this was all the push they needed to go full agrophobic.

In fact, Spents can probably see more of my boaby than I can. I don't know about that, fella. But if the wind is in the right direction I could probably smell it.

Cheers guys. The funeral was as basic as it gets. No wake and only 20 allowed in.. Plenty have endured worse but i have to say it left me feeling a bit hollow.
