I used to play drums in a work band, we practiced fairly regularly but only ever did a couple of gigs a year at the Office. Drums aren’t the most neighbour friendly instrument to play indoors, so I’m thinking about buying my next favourite instrument, the bass guitar. I’ve seen a guitar, amp, headphone combo for under €300.. I played the bass in a Hard Rock/Metal covers band about 30 years ago; AC/DC, The Cult, Metallica, Motorhead, Nuclear Attack, The Strangers, Iron Maiden etc. I started off as the singer, but we also needed a bass player so we borrowed the kit and the lead guitarist showed me what to play using tablature. We had to get another singer, because I couldn't do two things at once. I eventually bought an Avon jazz bass, fitted it heavy gauge strings, bought a distortion peddle, and had a few lessons. We practiced for about 6 months, had our first gig lined up at our local pub (The Nags Head in Malvern, if anyone knows it) and we even had a band name... Helliconia (this was taken from a trilogy of books by Sci-Fi author called Brian Aldiss)..., then the drummer and the lead guitarist had a falling out and that was that. I've still got the bass. I'm planning on getting it serviced, re-strung and buying an amp like yourself. The Nags Head in Malvern is a cracking pub.

After my redpill thread i did a lot of deep thinking and about that recreated Commodore 64. It's actually a c64 with hdmi and usb. You can program it.
Obviously i will play games on it but may try a bit of old school programming. With any luck i can write 1983s smash hit. Probably give up at making a dot move around the screen.

I looked at one myself but I figured it would end up being clutter like everything else I buy that I don't really need. It all ends up being given away.

That's what my loft is for! Keep stuff long enough and it becomes valuable.

That's what my loft is for! Keep stuff long enough and it becomes valuable. Ha! That doesn't work! I've got one of the first Sony Discmans which I have kept and lugged around the world since the 1980s, and it is worth fuck all! Strangely though, I have a set of sny earphones from the same period which seem to have some kind of cult following in Japan and sell for about 100€ a set... odd.

I have a ruckload of original Star Wars toys in the loft, from the 70s and very early 80s. I am hoping that they are worth something.

Maybe I shouldn't have focussed quite so extensively on Dairylee but none of us has a crystal fucking ball.

If they're boxed then yes. Tits. That's a big negatory good buddy. It depresses me the Gerry Anderson toys I had and broke. Worth a fortune now if I'd left them in the box.

Kids...daft fuckers playing with their toys! That's why I bought toys for my lad and made him put them in the loft.
Actually, my mother threw ALL my fucking star wars toys out. They were in a cupboard in the bedroom and one day I noticed they weren't there and then got informed I didn't need them and they'd gone to the fucking tip! There were shitloads of the fuckers. The only thing that survived was the Falcon as I'd put that in the loft for some reason.

I treated myself to a Smartwatch this week. Taking the health thing a bit more seriously made me curious about how much cardiac exercise I was doing, and also I admit to be quite curious about my heart rate while riding on track (I blame Dorna for kitting up the MGP riders last year and displaying the stats on screen). It's pretty good, the notifications from the phone need careful administration because they get fucking annoying. The GPS for Strava while cycling seems good (only used it once though). I've not got round to activating the "answer calls" through the watch, it all seems a bit too Michael Knight TBH, and I'm too self concious to talk to my watch in public at the moment. Maybe it's more Dom Joly than Michael Knight in fact...
But what really has made me quite sad is that my daily worn watch that I used to wear is a Casio that my late mum bought me for my 16th birthday. That watch has been with me for a huge part of my life and I am really loathed to put it in a drawer never to be seen again! Starnge how stuipid shit can be sentimental.

I saw a cunt in Asda the other week pay for his fucking shopping with his watch like it was the bastard future or something. Ridiculous.

I wanted it to be properly waterproof, have built in GPS and sync with Strava, and without costing stupid money, so I'd been waiting for the Amazfit GTS 2 to drop in price since it came out. Saw some online for 130€ so I nabbed one. I like the GTR 2 also, but being round, it's bigger and I have wrists like sparrow's legs.
I'm pretty happy with it except for it being a blatant copy of the Applewatch and maybe the weather widget has a bug because for some reason it doesn't show the temperature, but maybe that's a setting or sync issue, I'm still messing about with it.
