Thanks fella. Been a bit busy this past week or so. Not sure if I have ever mentioned the cat that visits me at work on here before? The cat has been patrolling our yard for about 5 years. I've been there for two and on night shift for past year. Been feeding the cat every night and taking in cat food for him for the last year. He follows me everywhere and is an excellent mouser. Anyway, about a month ago I found out he was a she and had an owner nearby. The cat also slept in the next door train station during the day. The station master looked after her too. Before I knew this I was going to take the cat home and adopt it. Sadly last week the cat was found under a car limping. My work colleagues took her to a local vet next to Brands Hatch. She ended up losing one of her rear legs. The owner decided to abandon the cat as the vets bill was over a £1000. I was not going to let that cat down so I took legal ownership of her and brought her home finally after much red tape this Saturday just gone. We always called her Tiddles so that is her name now. Got her micro chipped but will also get her a GPS collar. To see my little mate struggling on three legs breaks my heart and the guilt I feel is immense that I didn't just take her home beforehand. Luckily everyone loves her in my house. She is sitting on the bed with me as I type this. I will get back on with the little aprilia very soon but need to nurse my little pal first. If you use instagram my missus has set up a page for Tiddles. www.instagram.com/tiddlesstationcat

That's so sad Droog but more than anything reveals the sort of person you are. My old man always struggled when he had to bring dead pets back from the vet. I was in bits about my little girl's guinea pig, but there was an element of knowing I had to come home and tell her the news too going on.

My dog Sid lost a leg when he was 4 and went on to be 15. Once he got past the initial loss of the leg, about 48 hours in his case, he just cracked on and had a cracking life. Mint for pulling fanny as well, the chicks love a three legged pet.

Done a bit to the aprilia today. Scotched the frame and swingarm before a nice coat of acid etch primer. Then a few generous coats of satin black. New bearings in both and new rear shock absorber. Paint dried nicely in the sun. Few other new parts fitted like chain guard. Also removed gear selector shaft as it was bent and needs replacing. Engine in good order despite dirty appearance. Still got a few bits to go to the powder coaters and some more new parts to source.

You just know this aint going to end with just an RS50 build. If we were to imagine you may have looked on eBay for something to do when this was finished, what might it be....hypothetically of course

I've seen a racing class for two strokes which is basically run what you brung to a certain extent. Fancy getting another of these little aprilia rs50's and sticking in a YZ 250 lump or similar. Bore it out to 326 and have some fun. Build my own exhaust and have a tinker. Probably only have time to ride it twice a year though.
I'd still like to do that moped endurance racing also.

Moped endurance racing sounds like the most fun you can have on 2 wheels.
Your lad will be getting ideas if he sees you stick a 250 engine in one

To be honest he had shown zero interest in it so far sadly.

I sympathise. I bought a couple of Tamiya RC cars to rebuild, to try and get my lad interested in mechanical things but it's not sparked anything.
Interesting rebuild anyway. Needs chesterfield graphics for the full Biaggi look!
Oh mystic Droog, if you were to do a cafe racer conversion on something (not fast or anything), what would you go for? Saw a really nice job done on a Diverson and they are piss cheap to buy. Since I just replaced my steering rack on the TT (cunt of a job) I am feeling manly and needing to do more tinkering.

Well Meeks me old China, if I was going to build a cafe racer, I'd have to invoke the spirit by using a big single. The Yamaha SRX 600 would be my choice but finding one that isn't dust might prove to be a problem. Honda did an XBR 500 but again might be difficult to find one. If you go the multi route, I reckon you could do something nice with an FZ 600 or the Divvy as mentioned.

I got my boy a BMX and RC car kit a few Christmases back thinking he would get into one or the other. But the BMX was hardly used and the car is still sitting on his shelf having been used outside about 5 times. Last week I finally gave up on him getting into BMX'ing and put some lights on it for the odd time he uses it to go to his mates. Even this is rare as he usually wants a lift.
Done a bit more on the aprilia today before work tonight. Yokes painted and fitted along with the new clip ons. Rearsets painted also.
