Got to read this whole thread one day.
Went out on my daughers RS125 the other day. Pretty standard apart from jetting, both snorkels opened to the airbox and a proper aprilia FP exhaust chamber. Got 141 km/h on it! (gps speed, clock shows 150 ish) All tucked in and bum on rear seat Good fun.

No. It has sat in the shed unused. I refused to pay for the CBT as I paid for the bike, his riding kit, his licence plus I've taxed and insured it as well as paying for the MOT. He has had the money on several occasions but has wasted it on crap instead. To be honest it's a bit of a relief as he is no natural when it comes to riding. I'm buying his first car next month and I'm hoping he passes his test in January and forgets about the bike for a bit until he has a bit or road sense.
In hindsight I wish I just got him the new scooter. Would have saved a ton of cash and hard work.

Such is the youth of today!
On the other hand, it's not worth pressuring your kids into liking what you like.
But anyway, admit it, you enjoyed doing it up!

I did for about the first month. Then it become a chore. An expensive chore. Having said that, if and when I do another bike refurb or project, it will be with no end time-scale. That way it can be enjoyed and worked on when I feel like it.
