Fair enough....he can't have any complaints about that. Puig will.

By the way, are we being diplomatically silent about Rory Skinner's first race?

By the way, are we being diplomatically silent about Rory Skinner's first race? TBH, I'd completely forgotten about him being in Moto2 until I saw the interview on the grid and, without looking, I have know idea if he even finished!

22nd ain't great, but as long as he matches Dixon WRT progress, I'm not unduly worried... IMHO, Skinner is the most talented rider to come out of the UK in the past decade.

I must admit, your post raised my eyebrows...Hes obviously good, but yours is a bold statement... For me, his early form in the Red Bull Rookies, CEV Moto3, winning the British Talent Cup, plus winning the British Super Sport at his second attempt (he didn't complete his first season due to funds), suggests that he has the talent to do well and I'd put him above Shakey in this respect! Don't forget, he made the BSB showdown in his second year! He is at the very least as good as Dixon IMO.

I've just looked up his results in the Redbull Rookies, and to be fair he did beat some pretty tough competition, some of who he is competing against this year. For example he finished 2016 ahead of: Sean Dylan Kelly Manu Gonzalez Ai Ogura Filip Salac
Hardly shabby so he surely deserves the chance.
Best rider from the UK in dcades? Remains to be seen IMHO.

How quickly we forget Cal Crutchlow. Lowes was good a couple of years ago.

Fair enough....he can't have any complaints about that. Puig will. And he did. Repsol team have put in a protest about them changing the penalty, it did say in the penalty notice it was to be served in Argentina. They have a point, but in the meantime, they make themselves look a bunch of pricks. I suppose they may have based Marquez' treatment knowing that they would miss Argentina, seeing as he had the penalty. I hope their appeal is noted, then dismissed, but they will think about the wording in penalties going forward.
