At least Ginters and MLav are still involved, they are talking sense. As Ginters said, they have tested there, so everyone has their bikes dialed in. That would explain the JM & MO performances, but I hope they can keep it up at other tracks. Binder was back in 15th.

Well here we go then, first sprint race. The format works in WSBK. Will everyone take their time to get tyres up to speed or just go bonkers from the start with a 'its a sprint' mentality?

Oops, the most picked FRR rider Marini gets over enthusiastic and knocks off Bastiaini. Mir nearly knocks off Quatararo, no room there.

Oliveria 3rd then overcooked it. That could have been a great debut ride.
Bagnaia a level headed current champion stays cool ride.

So far so good. It was more strung out than I was expecting.

Im liking this new format. Not just the sprint race but the practice is more entertaining now. Quick times coming in all through both sessions- not like before where just the last 15mins or so of FP3.
Bastianini is out for this and the next race with a busted shoulder.
Pol sounds like hes going to be ok. Just reading his injuries is painful.
It said in the commentary that Yamaha are after Martin.

Mir given a long lap penalty for bumping Quatararo on the 1st lap. Puig thinks the penalty was unjustified and appealed it. Twat. Thursday the riders were told to not make rash moves in the sprint race.

Lovely moto3 there. A bit of everything. Spoiled by the end of race rear ender. Horrible sight.

If MM didnt have a mechanical fault there, he needs a massive penalty. A LL penalty is insufficient. You cant make up for a crap bike by riding like that.
Oliveira was sitting up, hopefully no broken bones but that was a big hit.
I went to Porto for a weeks holiday this month and the people seemed very nice, smiley and friendly. Bet MM has to be sneaked out off the circuit under a coat.

I dont think the bookies are going to be giving a price for Bagnaia for the title. Ducati havent fucked the bike up over the winter and Bagnaia is looking comfortable.
What a last lap from Zarco.

Crazy move by MM, he was out of control from the off. Must be a ban of some sort.
Bagnaia made it look quite easy, Aprilia looking good too and a superb final lap from JZ.

I think Marc should retire. I know this may sound mad given he was on pole and got a podium but Marc is gonna Marc. If he was on a Ducati he'd be less Marc but that Honda is obviously do or die stuff.
I can't see Ducati taking him as a factory rider but maybe Aprilia would want him... or maybe not after today.

Pleased to see Pedro in charge in moto2. Hopefully he'll move up next season.
Main event had plenty of moments. Ominous really. Hopefully, no more mid term injuries.

I went to Porto for a weeks holiday this month and the people seemed very nice, smiley and friendly. My brothers have a flat in Alvor (just 10 min from Portimão), they spend a lot of time skydiving there. They used to go to spain, but found Portugal a lot more friendly and cheaper. Nice place with long beaches etc. Only been there once, but will deff go again. As for MM, well needs some sort of correction. Moto 3 great race ectpt for the end. Nasty. M2, just doesnt get me going. Main event. The last laps by Zarco, what a ride. Bags will be champ again. Yamaha have some serious thinking and fixing ahead.

They were offering some excuses up on Eurosport, maybe the riders ahead were slower and they bunched up, whatever. MM was going faster and tried to avoid Martin by going inside. If he had picked it up and run on a bit off track, no harm done. Thats what the extra tarmac runoff is for. But thats not his mentality. He isnt a rookie, but an experienced rider. Seems like he has gone back to old type MM from Moto3/2 days. www.motogp.com/en/videos/2023/03/26/m-marquez-wipes-out-oliveira-in-massive-crash/450783
