So a satellite team costs £11-13 million to run. That's peanuts compared to F1.

Seems like Leopard Racing wants to take over the Suzuki slots with Aprilias...
6 Aprilias next year? Or are RNF and Leopard going to fight over the two satellite bikes available?
Amazing what one win and a few podiums does!

GPone seem to be speculating Mir to Respol Honda and Rins to Aprilia with Vinales off to Pramac.

If Viñales lands in Pramac he's a very lucky boy...
He'd be lucky to get a Pedercini SBK ride in my book.

Maybe Aprilia will run Mir and Rins as a satellite team and take some staff over to gain a few secrets?

I don't understand how bike racing manages to get so little sponsorship. Whoever was drumming up cash for Suzuki must have been shite. Would have got more cash if Mir and Rins had sat outside the back of the garage with a dog and a begging bowl. kenny roberts used to say this. what firms pay for a tiny sticker on an F1 car, they could be the title sponsor of a motogp team for a full season. 20 years ago sure, but he said £200k would easily cover that. i find it interesting that cryptocurrencies are starting to become massive sponsors for events and teams in other sports. it's already huge in formula one so maybe that'll filter through to bike racing. the works yamaha riders have had fantom stickers on their visors for the last four years. bitci sponsored a couple of grand prix last year. i've seen tezos decals on something but can't remember what. like clipper said, suzuki seem to fund the grand prix team themselves. if they got a sponsor in this arena, they'd be laughing.

Having looked at what Suzuki currently produce I don't think motorsport is the top of their list. The GSXR1000 is the only thing I'd call a proper sportsbike. They do the BUsa, some fat GSX1000 thing that I guess is VFR competition and the GSXR125. WHAT A RANGE!
Maybe it has come to this. Normal people can't ride an RGV250 to it's limit or a 1996 600SRAD for that matter. Where is there to do with handling? The biggest advances to most riders are upping their riding skills. Bikes are all an a downward power to weight cycle from years gone by and even those still buying new Blades probably never ride them properly. Maybe they are just thinking there is no carry over to their bikes sales so fuck it. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday is long out of the window.

Rins looks almost certain to be on an Aprilia.
If its in the factory team in place of Viñales or in RNF in place of Dovi remains to be seen.
That said, on one hand the press is saying that Leopard will probably take Suzuki's slots with Aprilia bikes, but on the other they say that RNF are looking to replace the Yamahas with Aprilias.
I can't see Aprilia fielding 6 bikes next year, so somebody is going to get stuck with some Yamahas.
Another possibility is that Dorna are negotiating with Suzuki to try to drag out the inevitable another year. I wonder if we might see a Leopard run "Hayabusa" team using 2022 debadged Suzukis with some kind of spares only support from the factory? Similar to the Hayate-Kawasaki thing?
Odd that Suzuki still haven't officially said anything. Either they are wating to see what comes out of the Dorna threats or they are waiting to see what happens in their emissions fraud investigation.

Olivera doesn't seem an 'all calendar' man. Think we've seen all we need to. I guess if Mir moves to HRC and can't out-do Marquez maybe the bike really is a piece of crap.
Didn't know Suzuki had gone all VW and been scamming the emissions. Are the car and bike businesses separate entities financially? No doubt someone will have to disembowel themselves due the shame in Japan.
Are Yamaha willing to provide satellite bikes next year or have they cut back to factory?

Jarvis re Toprak:
"We don't have a space for him in the factory team, if he doesn't like the RNF bike he has two choices; ride for another team or stay in Superbike".
Pretty clear then!
