Well I just talking to someone today about Suzuki and how they never seen fully committed to whatever they go into. So much for the satellite team.
Wouldn't surprise me if they drop the GSXR range as well. Don't see many newer Gixxer 1000s , it's all Blades and S1000rr.
Aleix will have fuck all bargaining power now.
Not great for MotoGP in general. Maybe Kawasaki can have another crack.

It only ever seemed to be Brivio who wanted satellite bikes from Suzuki. He was fighting an uphill battle.
It's a shame they're leaving. Are we seeing the decline of the Japanese bike industry? Or maybe they just can't see the point of developing internal combustion engines anymore.
I hope Suzuki do go to SBK, although it seems unlikely.
Kawasaki have recently said that they have no intention of coming back.

Not so sure about ICE thing yet as none of the big bike names seem to be pushing ebikes. It's all Chinese crap. I'm sure it will come but not enough of a reason for Suzuki to pull out now.
I think they are just skinflint fuckers who can't even find a decent sponsor. It's always had the air of a budget effort.

I've been wondering when manufacturers would be pulling the plug on petrol driven motors, not just bikes but cars. The investment into future transport with electric motors must be huge.

Yamaha will lose two bikes from the grid also because RNF have supposedly agreed to switch to Aprilia bikes next year.
Rins maybe to replace Dovi at RNF?

I wonder if this will produce a house of cards effect?

Well, there will only be 6 Japanese bikes on the grid next year, so I suppose so.
That said there will be 16 European bikes, assuming that all the existing teams with Euro bikes continue.
But what does that tell us?

I wonder when KTM are going to pull the plug. A big winner in offroad/mx and I bet MGP is a huge drain on their budget. I know thay say there are commmited but I bet with Suzuki dropping out they will have a re think.

KTM though, like Ducati have a sponsor with very deep pockets.
Suzuki were more or less paying their own way...

I don't understand how bike racing manages to get so little sponsorship. Whoever was drumming up cash for Suzuki must have been shite. Would have got more cash if Mir and Rins had sat outside the back of the garage with a dog and a begging bowl.

Dorna says hold on you cunts.....
Following recent rumours of Suzuki departing MotoGP at the end of 2022, Dorna Sports has officially contacted the factory in order to remind them that the conditions of their contract to race in MotoGP do not allow for them to take this decision unilaterally.
However, should Suzuki depart following an agreement between both parties, Dorna will decide on the ideal number of riders and teams racing in the MotoGP class from 2023.
Dorna continues to receive high levels of interest from a number of both official factories and Independent Teams looking to join the MotoGP grid as the sport continues to set a global example of close competition, innovation and entertainment, reaching hundreds of millions of fans around the world.
So who are these extra grid fillers dying to join the GP paddock? Not Kawasaki. Probably not BMW. Already 8 fucking Ducatis kicking about. Maybe Norton can make a comeback and scam some more people.

I'd be pretty sure that buying their way out of their contract with Dorna will be rather cheaper than staying in!
Can you imagine how much Rin's and Mir's wage demands will have gone up since 2 years ago? One being ex WC and the other joint leader (or at least front runner)?
Maybe it's not a coincidence that this decision coincides with the rider's contract talks?
Maybe if the offered McPhee and Ana Carrasco the rides they might save a few bob!

I bet Rins fucked the project last year with all the crash bills. Good job Ducati have deep pockets Jorge....
