Brit chances at the Olympics?

I think all national team's results in sport go in waves. Take rugby, the 6 nations goes from Wales, Ireland, England, France being dominate. Sometimes Scotland have a good showing, Italy have the odd good game. England used to have a strong pack, and took the boring route to their World success.

Rowing is no different. For 45 years we have had very good results. Now other nations are improving and have we stood still? With rowing, the races are a fixed distance. If weather conditions are the same, then have our rowers become slower, or everyone else faster?

Dan wot-his-face on BBC breakfast asked someone from Team GB about our 'failure', the 'money we have spent', did Britain get 'value for money'. Dickhead questions.
The reply was only 20% or our rowers have previous Olympic experience. Other countries improving etc.
If you have different rowers, different coaches, different training regimes, you can't expect the same results as in the past.

We have also had Covid interrupting training, although elite athletes have been able to train for a while now when the rest of the country were on lockdown. One of our gold medal swimmers has had covid twice now which interrupted his training . Have the rowers had similar issues?

When I walk down my local high street I dont see a nation of athletes   
I think Team GB is doing ok TBH. 

Anyway, Emma Wilson guaranteed a medal in the women's windsurfing after 12 races and just the double points medal race to go. 4 points down on the Chinese and 2 ahead of the French. If she is 2 places ahead of the Chinese and 1 place behind the French to win gold she will be equal on points, but she has most wins so would win on countback.
The wind forecast is crap, 7-8 knots, the lightest its been all week. Sunday's forecast is good, 14-17 knots, but they dont reschedule in the Olympics, which is a shame. 

Woke includes all this quitting = mental health bravery now.

Maybe chose a different profession then as you won't win? Dangerous path when weakness becomes inspirational. I wonder if Biles would have the same mental problems with a decent score?

I think 'oh so Meek oh so mild' needs 4 minutes at the Nippon Budokan with a +78kg women in 'pyjamas'. That would see a few mental health issues

Wilson was 2nd in the medal race, but the Frenchie won, so they tied on points but its who beats who in the medal race which counts, not the previous 12 races in the build up as I thought. So she got a bronze. A good result for her, in the build up to the games she was 4th a lot. 

Thats those Olympic RSX class one design boards done and dusted, they are switching to boards with massive foils underneath which get flying even in 6 knots of wind.  Nobody sails the RSX boards apart from the race classes for them. 1 company had a monopoly on building them so they were very expensive. The new boards and sails can be made by anyone so that should reduce the price. Roll on 2024.
