IIRC, I think MacKenzie had the chance to go to WSBK but didnt have the cash to pay for it. Why get yourself into debt for a satellite team ride? Its a gamble, it could pay off or you could fight for 15th each race.
Ray is only doing the European rounds, 1-9 of 12. I suppose there is the chance that if he sets the world alight someone will stump up more money.

Baldasari steps up to the big bikes too, good.
Not so keen on seeing Syahrin stay but whatever, well done for hanging on another year!

Taz going to WSS on a Honda. I actually think this is a decent move. Not sure how the Honda will perform but this is class on the up and lets be honest he would struggle in WSB on anything other than a works bike. Then there's the aliens.

This is very odd as the CBR600RR is dead? I thought it was like the GSXR in that it was sold in certain markets where they can still shift it like America but nobody we and the rest of Europe don't have it and it's just the old bike from 2015 or whatever.

Obviously the CBR and GSX-R is still a homolgated model somewhere, so it's eligible.

The CBR won the 2022 Japanese Supersport championship (and 2nd place). Also the Asia Road Race Championship. Different rules and regs, but its not dead.

Lets face it, Donington and possibly Snetterton apart, UK circuits are fucking dangerous and can really bite when things go wrong. Taz has a couple of really nasty crashes in recent times and it will be good for him race at tracks with width and runoff. I think he'll do ok.

I just can't see the point in a homologation special bike? I thought the new idea of WSS was more high volume sale stuff not boutique shit for Japs only.

Andrea Mantovani to replace Baldassarri on the Evans Bros rocketship. Who? Not the half decent Moto2 rider they have gone for in the past. Maybe they couldnt find anyone with the money. www.worldsbk.com/en/news/2023/Mantovani+joins+Evan+Bros+Yamaha+for+2023+WorldSSP+campaignThe teams with the newer bikes, Ducati, Triumph etc, will have a season's data under their belts. Thats will make Taz' job even harder as he and his team have to do it from scratch and they only get 2 45 minute FP sessions these days. But I'm sure has figured all this in and wants to give it a go. Good luck to him.

How long is Redding's contract? 2 years? He's slagging BMW again so I don't expect he'll have another year.
