1. My split personality enables to do that for hours on end, yet feeling caged in. 2. Do it. Just do it. Motorised and not. Fuck. Too late. It's illegal to go out except for food or medicine now. 2 weeks of confinement awaits.... Good luck. Some planes from the UK turned around mid flight when that was announced. I think that will happen over here soon. Just watched a BBC report from Wuhan. Everyone is confined to their home. Food is delivered to apartment blocks, organised by apartment block managers. A young couple have been making regular reports. The wife who is a nurse/health care worker got it, so the bloke had to look after her at home. She got worse, hospitalised but now recovering. Their measures do seem to be working now, 2 1/2 months on. Its a different culture. Here in the UK, the chief scientific officer Sir Patrick Vallance seems to want to allow 60% of people, spread over a few months, to get the virus to build up 'herd immunity'. Population of 67 million, 60% is 40 million, 15% (current figures) likely to need hospital treatment is 6 million. Probably less than 15% as they want the over 70s to stay at home and have no contact. Whether this is going to be our strategy I dont know, maybe its just the media picking up on Vallance's idea and pushing it out to the public to sell papers. www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/13/herd-immunity-will-the-uks-coronavirus-strategy-work

I'm no expert, but I can sort of see the logic in a controlled epidemic.
But yes, I agree that it's only a matter of time until you log are under lockdown too.

I'm about as a logical person as people get, and I can see the thinking around it. But whilst the chief scientific officer is saying its a good idea, the people in charge of the NHS are saying are you fucking kidding, up to 6 million extra people in hospital, even if it is spread out over 6 months? It seems the approach they are taking is slow the spread down as much as possible to spread the number of hospital cases over several months so there is no large peak. The problem with both is they can't control the number of cases and when a peak happens.

South Korea - There is a bit about testing here. It takes 5-6 hours to process to find if the virus is present. The tests are carried out in this negative pressure room, it prevents any droplets from the samples escaping, the country has the capacity to test 140,000 samples a week, they learned the risk of new infection and its ramifications from the experience of the Middle East Respiratory syndrome (Mers) back in 2015 www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-51836898

It seems to me that there is no right or wrong approach to this. The skill is 'guessing' the least worse solution.
I think we are in for a very bumpy ride.

The empty supermarket shelves are really ripping my knitting. People are such selfish cunts. Obviously the official line is "we have enough stock if you stop being bellends" but have they? This is bound to affect food imports and I can see key items simply disappearing. It will soon be easier to buy cocaine than tinned tomatoes.

Ha. Somebody made the point that if the public can't be trusted not to be cuntish about panic buying chuff paper, they can't be trusted to do fuck all, especially if more stringent temporary 'rules' come in.
This morning when I went shopping my Mrs wanted pasta 'on the off chance' as we had run out and a packet of digetives. Amazingly there was some penne but not even a packet of own brand digestives. I had to go back and when I did 30-40 minutes later all the penne had gone.
Anyway, I'm going hardcore on my blocked digestive system. I have lobbed into the nutribullet a tin of prunes, a banana, an apple, two live yogurts and some soya milk. Trust me it tasted lovely. I'm half way through it. I'm estimating/expecting/hoping for a fresh lava flow this evening.

Phoned my mother. Her neighbour just left for a holiday in Portugal this morning. Seriously. I don't like criticising people for stupidity but these are exceptional times and it's difficult to imagine anything more stupid than jumping on a flight to central Europe just because it hasn't been cancelled yet.
THEY'VE NOT CANCELLED IT BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO GIVE YOUR MONEY BACK YOU DOZY CUNT. ENJOY YOUR FUCKING EUROPEAN QUARANTINE!

Even with the law in place, there were people in the street here this morning . Some justifiedly going to work or whatever, but others obviously being cunts.
The first fines of 2,000€ seem to have hit home the message though. It's eerily quiet. Spain is never quiet...

Also, beardy billionaire Richard Branson who, despite having wealth the rest of us can only dream, of still dresses like a cunt in a sack, and who also sued the NHS over the awarding of a contract, wants a £7.5bn taxpayer bailout for the airline industry. Because that's who needs it. Not poor cunts on zero hours contracts working in hotels, bars and restaurants who will have no fucking work for the foreseeable 😒
Does the cunt even pay tax in the UK?

I think they do intend to help the people at the lower pay earners out. Whether they do or not and in how quickly time remains to be seen. The airline industry supports a lot of jobs in the UK. We get a lot of tourists and that industry is going to suffer. If the government (us taxpayers) bail out these companies it should be on the same basis as Lloyds & RBS banks after the financial crash, by buying shares in the companies. Eventually they sold the Lloyds shares back to the market and iirc made a small profit. RBS they still hold the shares, and thats not looking so good. Any convicted & jailed tax evaders can fuck off. Tax exiles can also fuck off. Why should we taxpayers help them out. Sure, we will buy their company for a quid, keep the company going, but thats the end of their involvement. Its a shame he is such a cunt as he has actually done a lot of good with his entrepreneurial skills.

Its a shame he is such a cunt as he has actually done a lot of good with his entrepreneurial skills. Precisely. It's the absolute fucking brass neck of the cunt asking for a bailout from British taxpayers. Of course businesses are in danger, jobs are in danger, our entire fucking economy could collapse but there are likely to be permanent changes to the way we live off the back of this, particularly if it (or a variation of it) emerges annually. Another thought is that shortages of food and household essentials could well become normalised after we fully leave the EU, particularly as the government don't seem prepared to align with EU regulations to make negotiations easier. I was sure that by 2020 we'd all be cutting about in hover cars. This is utter bollocks.
