Dogman
Thought it was good
As a child, Douglas was abused by a violent father who then threw him to the dogs. Instead of attacking him, the dogs protected him. Traumatised and leading a life on the margins of society with his dogs, Douglas descends into a murderous madness.

Life (2017) A team of scientists aboard the International Space Station discover a rapidly evolving life form that caused extinction on Mars and now threatens all life on Earth.
Standard space station stuff. Good effects and a decent cast.
No tits. I wish Rebecca Ferguson would get them out.
Don't go out of your way to watch it, but give it a whirl if you stumble across it.
6/10

Furiosa (2024)
Before we start there is for all intents and purposes, NO MAD MAX. There is about a 3s landscape shot with his car and him looking over a cliff. That is the amount of Mad Max.
Anyway, besides no Mad Max is this any good? Short answer is yes though it's a bit long in places it didn't need to be. Want to know how Furiosa came to work for Joe? This is that story and for the most part it's fairly action packed and Mad Maxish. The main problem I had with it is SHIT and jarring CGI. Fury Road just used a bit of CGI to embellish mostly real action takes. What you saw actually happened for the most part. In this it's the opposite, it's all Matrix style physically impossible camera angles and weird speeded up physical movements. You get used to it but it's still annoying.
The other main problem I had was Hemsworth's nose. It's a bizarre stick-on nose and just looks daft. Apart from that it's just an action film and a fairly good one at that. It's not woke really as Furiosa isn't some sort of physical badass that can throw 300lb men about.
7/10 (no tits)

Kingdom of the planet of the apes (2024)
It's many generations after the last recent Apes film. Caesar the ape is long dead and apes now seem to live in Harmony with nature and in different communities etc. Humans aren't really on the scene and are dumb as fuck anyway. Then two things happen...a non dumb as fuck human turns up and also an Ape war party with some electro shock technology. The main protagonist ape is out aping about when the war party arrives and gets on the scene as his community is being burnt down and the apes enslaved. After a bit of a ruck with a gorilla out lead ape is left for dead and then must begin his quest to find his tribe and also figure out what this intelligent human is up to.
To be fair the plot of this wasn't what I expected but they again I'd not read anything about it. Basically the warlord ape is trying to become the new Caesar and wants an ape kingdom and wants to break into an old human war bunker which he believes is full of weapons.
The CGI was actually good for once and it wasn't utterly unconvincing and making you wonder why LOTR looked better in 2001.
It's overlong but a decent film in all
8/10 (no tits)

Animal Kingdom (2023).
One of those I really don't know what to make of that films. It's French. The premise is people are starting to mutate into animals and those who do are quickly removed and hospitalised out of sight.
The film centres on father and son who are dealing with living without the mother who has begun to turn into an animal. The son is also starting to turn but is able to keep it secret for the moment.
This really is a visually striking film and I really don't know whether to recommend it or not, you could find it amazing or file under pretentious shit. Tbh I'm just glad these for of films still get made in this formulaic Hollywood era.
8/10 if you like it, 4/10 if you don't. Can't remember if there was tits.

65 (2023)
An astronaut crash lands on a mysterious planet only to discover he's not alone.
That's not a great summary. 65 is for 65M years ago. Basically a humanoid spaceship crashes on earth shortly before the dinosaur destroying asteroid.
Decent concept. Small cast. Sightly silly but a pretty good film.
6/10

From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999)
Five career criminals gather in Mexico to pull off a bank heist. They soon realize that they are up against far more frightening creatures than the police pursuing them.
Erm. Shite.

I've seen shit loads of films recently. Most have been middling to shit. The SHITTEST THIS YEAR IS THE CROW!!!! UTTER SHIT!!!
ANYWAY.....The Substance (2024)
Demi Moore is an aging TV fitness instructor dancing away in her 80s leotard, she is well aware time is against her and overhears her boss, Dennis quaid talking about getting rid of her. After an unexpected car accident she leaves hospital with a USB stick and phone number for 'the substance'. What is it? It's a younger, better you! Quite literally.
This is what tends to be classed as 'body horror' and my god is it something else! For a start there's loads of tits and close up shots of crotches and arses. There's also a bizarre journey into transformation as 'the balance' must be maintained between the young self and the old self. I won't spoil anything but to say if you've seen Society get ready for some of that in the effects department!! The ending is WILD!!
It's 20 mins longer than it needed to be but you'll never be bored. I'm just surprised it got made in this woke era.
9/10 LOTS OF TITS!!!!!

Due to my wife's epilepsy, we have been watching a lot feel good or quite drama films lately i.e. non-fantasy, non-action, non-thriller stuff.
North Country (2005) Where the Crawdads Sing (2022) The Outfit (2022) Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (2022) The Last Rifleman (2023) Race (2016) The Founder (2016) St. Vincent (2014)

Well Neil, I've seen none of those. Any of them any good? This is a bit of a cop out, but it all depends on your tastes. The most "actiony" of those is probably The Outfit, my least favourite was The Rifleman as I found acting Pierce Brosnan quite cheesy at times. They're all quite slow paced, and they bimble along nicely. For me, it would like trying to choose your favourite GSX-R ( ), or Terry Pratchett book, or Star Wars movie! I suggest that you watch the trailers, as they all give a far synopsis of the films and they don't try to "big" them up!

If you’re looking for a feel good film Neil try Joyride. It’s filmed in Ireland starring Olivia Coleman who does a fairly good accent and is excellent. All the supporting cast are Irish (I think) and it’s a good watch and strangely compelling. Some tit.
