Right cycling cunts. A mystery needs solving. I have 2 mountain bikes which are identical apart from they are a few model years apart and the (slightly) newer one has 29" wheels compared to the older one's 26". I am consistently 10 - 20% slower on the older bike and can't figure out why. And before you all shout "it's yer fookin' gearing mate", I don't think it's the fookin' gearing because top gear on the smaller wheeled bike feels like harder work than on the other one. In fact, it just feels more of a slog in general. It has a new chain/rearset and a recent rear wheel rebuild so bearings are all new. The tyre profiles on both bikes are a chunky 2.3 on the rear. I'm considering a narrower rear on the smaller bike but surely tyre profile wouldn't have such a large effect? Help me out you cunts. Sell the slow one, ride the fast one. Come to think of it, that could apply to many situations in life..

Aye I was thinking that. No idea what it's worth. Cost £1k new. Always good to have a spare but might as well get a road bike if I'm keeping two.

Did you take off the fag packet and clothes peg from the fork?

They run on used chip fat and Tennents lager. Brilliant designs.

Yeah fair enough.
I was in the vicinity of Lands End a few years back. No fucker I was down there with wanted to go but on reflection I think there's fuck all there apart from traffic. I'd have ridden there for the same reason you did. There are better places to visit either end eh?

It's rammed up here just now. Cunts wild camping and leaving jobbies and wet wipes everywhere.
Seems like every fucker wants to do the North Coast 500 because Shagaluf is closed and the infrastructure just can't cope with it.
Back to Glasgow tomorrow. Glad to have got some work done and got a decent cycle in this week.

Strava sucks since you have to pay for everything.
If it was a one off purchase of say 50 quid, I'd be tempted, but at over 50 quid a year I think it's way too steep for anyone except whose prime interest is cycling.

You don't have to pay for everything. I was a bit miffed at first when they adjusted it, but I'm fine with what is left.
