Trying to actual train this month. Got a new turbo trainer after old one started saying I was doing 50w and only reading 120w on hard efforts. In 2016 My FTP was 234W but the other day I could only hold 250W for 3 minutes so I've a lot of catching up to do.
Barely ridden at all in the last 3 months, just couldn't get motivated and when I stuck the bike on the trainer it was broken so I just gave up. Need to get the eye of the tiger back. At least Zwift seems to have loads of workouts to suit all timescales. Going to do a ramp test today to see where I really am at the moment.
Just need to be fit enough to not get fucked over by big hills in real life really. Nothing worse than gassing up a hill and having to dismount.

There is no way I am getting back into cycling of any description or fitness. I'm going to grow old as I am. I've just seen my pension forecast. Fuck prolonging my life

Something to be said for that as at some points the fitter I got the more injured I seemed to be. Yeah I can cycle a lot quicker but now why calves have knots in and I've got a groin strain etc., etc.
Been doing but walking all winter and I'm sort of injury free at the moment. We shall see if ramping the effort up ends in tendon pain etc.

181w ftp. Lost momentum when I had to hold 260w and then strength went.

I'm still well in.
Bollocks to turbos. Last autumn I bought some rollers. The plan was to keep ticking over during the shite months. I am pretty good at doing something every other day. During the week 2 or 3 15 minute sessions. If I can't do any roads at the weekend I do up to 4 15 minute sessions instead.
I am going to commute by riding as soon as possible. Weather permitting every other day too. In the decent months, the way home gets longer and longer.
I have got some mega torches on the bars and have become a bit of a lover of dark rides. Plan is to do an all nighter at the summer solstice. Should get my second tonne up that way too.

I'm not getting out much for loads of pathetic reasons, I am doing a three-four mile walk at speed every morning with me whippet and 2-3 gym sessions a week. I'll be back out on the bike in may hopefully.

You still sound mad for it Eddie. I've got an urge to buy a cyclocross bike for some odd reason. Don't need one at all but want one.

I have a really light boardman ht pro frame I could use. I'm guessing the geometry would be all fucked up if you made some frankenbike? The bike is designed for fairly long, high riding forks.
I converted a hyrid into a fixie race and take under up head down, arse up but I could live with that as it looked cool as fuck with black frame, pink wheels and green tape, tyres and chain. Fucking pain the arse as soon as you got near a hill though.

Still on the turbo. Need to get out into the real world now but my riding mate has slipped over winter and turned into a self confessed fat slob and banged on 10kg and says he's done his knee in. Maybe get out early tomorrow and try and get 2 hours in.

2018 was the year of the flatlands due to training up for the 100. My last 2 rides have been 4,000+ ft elevation rides to get the climbing stats back. Fucking hell, cleans you right out.

Well done Eddie, I look at your strava with envy. I'm struggling to get out at the moment, and only able to grab the odd 1 hour loop once or twice a week. A combination of house extension, work, and arthritis diagnosed in my right knee have curtailed my cycling. I'm going for a second opinion on my knee as I'm not so sure the cunts don't just want to push me in a pigeon hole.

That sucks Vazy. My boss has got it in the hip and she's hobbling around all over the shop at 44. They have her a shot but it's only seemed to have lasted a few months.

Just cycled up the hill after a yoga session on my 21 year old Trek Y-22, does that count?
Since doing my leg in Ive been more out on the bike, used to be a mtb nut back in the day.
