Getting much traffic to the site Droog? I see you are still keeping ontop of the updates / news. Looks good. I was thinking this the other day; how are the 'hits' measured, can you tell when the website appears on search engine results etc?

There is a stats plugin. To be honest I have not been using it as I wanted to wait until we started creating our own content first. I have a good idea of the real views we are getting though. I'm not prolific on twitter but as of now we have 126 followers. Ideally we would have about 10,000 who are avid readers of the site with a tenth of them taking time to post comments and share our content. We have been up and running for 9 months and as of yet, we are only publishing press releases and the times that I do live when I can. Hopefully by the time we are a year old we will have some content up that we have produced ourselves outside of times. Ideally I would have liked us to have written our own race coverage and a few articles by now. But the real interest is in video news. Nowadays people are far more willing to watch a video for their news updates than read an article. I also want us to get together and do a pod cast on a Sunday night after any racing. I understand how difficult all of the above will be to do. I work nights and have a family. I know that most of you are in a similar position where free time is a luxury.
On a plus point the site is stable, looks good and is uncluttered. All we really need to do is add more content and keep spreading the word. What would help for now is if the rest of you could visit the site and leave comments on any of the news that is published.

As a suggestion; are you able to create a drop down style menu for the 'News' tab where you can choose; MotoGP, WSB, BSB, MotoAmerica etc? It might make navigation the site a bit easier. I know that there is a 'tags' section further down the 'Home' page, but for a first time visitor it might make a bit more inviting and it could encourage them to return.

Also... how do you follow the website? Is that only via Twitter?

I could do a drop down menu and the only reason I didn't was because they are a bit old school. They also get clunky on a smart phone. I am considering doing a separate smaller menu For the relevant championships but you can already get all the news posted about BSB or MotoGP by clicking the tags. Years ago when I ran MRN, I had menus for every series plus the rider columns. There were also separate menus for the various championship standings. But there is no value in doing that any more. The site should really be a hub for our own content. News and videos plus a pod cast.
As of now we are only on twitter and youtube. Could add an instagram account but until we are taking our own photos and video, I don't think it's worth doing it. If anyone here does use instagram a lot and fancies setting up an account for the site then please do. For now you could post the photos from the press releases with a link to the stories they came from I guess.

I will get all the British GP news up on the site ASAP. Been so busy this weekend. Was going to do it Sunday but ended up having to do a job on a car. Been working on my old car all of today as well as my new car. Had to change suspension for new on my old car and doing a head gasket on my new car. The reason I got my new car so dirt cheap lol.

Right! Who is in for doing a podcast? All we need to do is a group chat via skype or something similar and record it. Reply if you are up for it.

Site is up for renewal. Cost for the next year is £83.84. We still have £40 in my paypal account left over from donations last year. So we only need to find £43.84. To be honest no one else seems that interested in getting involved with the site though. I'm happy to keep it going and ramp things up for next season. I'm going to renew my press credentials and apply for press accreditation for select rounds of BSB and WSB in 2020. I reckon I can do about five meetings in total at least. Let me know what you all think.

Bit of a change of plan. No one else is really interested in doing any work towards the site and I get that, don't feel I am moaning. But even doing the press releases, site maintenance and updates takes a bit of time. I don't really have the time to do this on my own and it isn't much fun either.
Today was the last day I could cancel the subscription before payment was due. Technically it's not due for over a month but the way they work they demand a months notice before cancellation or it automatically renews.
Another issue is that unless we produce our own content there is literally no interest for someone to visit our site. I'd like to think we could turn it around but in a whole year not one of us has produced an article let alone any of the video content we really need to have done. I kind of gave up on any lofty ideas I had early this month when there was no interest at all with regards to doing the podcast.
Again I'm not moaning just explaining why I thought that cancelling it was for the best. Now before I started the cancellation process I made sure that we could change our minds if we wanted to. Obviously we would have to do that within the next 23 days or cancellation is irreversible.
There is still £40 in my paypal account left over from donations made last year that were done after we had already secured enough funds. It was made up of 3 separate donations and I can easily return it should we go ahead with the cancellation.
Let me know what you all think.

Cheers for all you've done but I'd say knock it on the head Droog. Clearly no-one else here has the time/inclination to get involved and it's hard to offer anything different.
I used to check loads of websites for bike news but the only one I check regularly now is Bikesport News and even that seems to have less content than it used to - there was no report on last weekend's Moto 2 and 3 races for instance. Crash.net is ok but I've got out the habit of checking it very often. David Emmett's Motomatters is usually a good read with opinions rather than just regurgitated press releases. Any others you recommend?

'We' go back more than 15 years. We deserve some credit for that. Why not give Droog's brilliant effort one more year? Maybe we need to divvy stuff up? I'm sure we could make BSB a bit more involved. Between us we must have someone who could attend every round, take a few basic pics and put a personal slant on it? As for WSB and Motogp, again, maybe we can take it in turns to some sort of write up?
