Young people. Not actually green at all. Cunts lecture older generations but yet can't get their faces out of energy using devices, can't fix fuck all, have no practical skills and by buy shit clothes that last 2 months and a new phone every 6 months because it's got 120hz instead of 90hz refresh rate. www.telegraph.co.uk/family/life/generation-greenwash-young-really-eco-think/

What's your take on air source heat pumps El Nino ? I got quoted to replace our oil burning boiler with a complete system including radiators. It isn't cheap but apparently there's a scheme similar to solar tariffs and i was seriously impressed by the guy's pitch. Cost is short term but certainly an issue. Haven't looked into any schemes so I don't know about support mechanisms. 10-15 years ago the tariffs for solar were really high but so was the purchase price. The tariff came down but so did the price and I expect the same for heat pumps. The technology is sound but they do seem expensive. I'd research thoroughly and the questions I'd want answered are: What are the details of the tariff? How long does it last and does its value change? Is your installer passing on the full value or is he pulling a fast one like some PV installers did? What's your installer's experience? He'll be putting holes in your house. What is the life expectancy of your unit? It contains a refrigerant and so efficiency will likely drop off over time. What are its maintenance requirements if any? How efficient will it be in winter when there is less heat in the ambient air (you don't have this issue with ground source)? It will still work but will be worked harder and use more electricity. I'd try and get these independently verified before committing. Personally I'll just get another gas boiler. Air to Air heat pumps are very popular here in Norway as elelctrisity has been cheap (not latley though!) and our houses are properly insulated. You can get grants to re-insulate lofts or change to better windows etc also Anyway, best move I did, cut out the parafin burner (had to by law in 2020 anyway) and got a mitsubiushi Kira heat pump. Saved a lot and have a nice heat. Solor panels are taking off, but it an investement, probably 8-10 years before retur. Houses build now have to have heat and hotwater reclamation system fittet and the insulation thikness also went up.

Look at the absolute fucking state of these cunts. Protesting SSE and trying to enter their offices. What the fuck were they trying to do? Disrupt SSE's reckless and uncontrolled program of outrageous wind farm construction? If you start to look like you just want to cause trouble for the sake of it then you quickly lose all sympathy and support. I don't mind them protesting JP Morgan though. Johnny works there and he's a fanny. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-59149718

I've popped along to the youth protest rally at George Square for a bit.
The patter is absolutely shite but the fanny's tremendous.

Well that's my mind fucking blown. Good guy is Prof Cox How long have we got before we're toast? Know what? The thing about PBC OBE is his ability to communicate complex physics to a general audience. He loves a black hole (who disnae?) and is happy to talk about them for ages. Tbh, the Q&A was a bit pants compared to listening to him talk about stuff that he's an expert on. On the back of this I'd go to his live tour. It's brilliant stuff. Anyway, it's the week of the Brians. Eno tomorrow. Actual Eno.

I've been listening to Eno produced Talking Heads albums this week. I also love My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. You won't be disappointed, i hope.
