You would think the Saudis are warm enough already without things getting hotter. But oil is all they have. The Ozzies still have large amounts of coal they want to burn. The Japanese lost a nuclear power station, do they need fossil fuel to make up the difference? Meanwhile in the UK we have a electric power cable from France out of action because of a fire at the UK end and it might take another 18 months to get it back to full capacity. There is a new link from France to Portsmouth under discussion and a lot of people are protesting about it because of work and disruption. Why does the UK need to import electricity from France? They have nuclear power stations, why dont we? The Chinese pulled out of the deal to build one for us. The CI came under threat from France about being cut off. The new global UK aint going so well. The import/export cables are a great idea as they allow potential to 'balance' production, particularly important as we increase our dependence on renewables. So if we have excess capacity we can export and if we are under generating we can import. There are interconnector cables between the UK and Ireland and one to Norway under construction. Nuclear energy is extortionate. Always has been. The billions that are being thrown at that would be better spent on energy storage and hydrogen production in my humble opinion. I doubt we will get to the stage of exporting our excess, will we? The wind has buggered off recently, too much high pressure over the UK/Europe. Has Norway got loads of HEP? Do you reckon at COP26 they will be discussing worldwide trade and how that affects climate change. I see we have signed a trade deal with NZ. Great news, as there is nobody nearer us who produces lamb and wine It might open up the NZ job market to UK professionals still young enough to move to somewhere nice though.

Well Scotland exports to England 🤣
Offshore wind is about to really take off in UK waters however it's all relative and it typically takes around 10 years from securing a site to generating power so it's not imminent. Floating wind will be a game changer as it will open up previously inaccessible locations. We've had a low wind year, it happens. We'll also have high wind years and be wanking furiously over our brilliant renewables. We need a mix and we need storage.
Heat pumps are suddenly being touted as an alternative to a gas boiler. Ground source heat pumps are interesting and should be installed with every new build. They are difficult to retro fit as they require significant excavation.
I'm not particularly convinced about air source heat pumps as they will be less efficient in winter when you need them most. They are also horrendously expensive and not suitable for every property. Personally, I'll be replacing my gas boiler before they're banned.

What's your take on air source heat pumps El Nino ? I got quoted to replace our oil burning boiler with a complete system including radiators. It isn't cheap but apparently there's a scheme similar to solar tariffs and i was seriously impressed by the guy's pitch. Cost is short term but certainly an issue.

Haven't looked into any schemes so I don't know about support mechanisms. 10-15 years ago the tariffs for solar were really high but so was the purchase price. The tariff came down but so did the price and I expect the same for heat pumps. The technology is sound but they do seem expensive. I'd research thoroughly and the questions I'd want answered are: What are the details of the tariff? How long does it last and does its value change? Is your installer passing on the full value or is he pulling a fast one like some PV installers did? What's your installer's experience? He'll be putting holes in your house. What is the life expectancy of your unit? It contains a refrigerant and so efficiency will likely drop off over time. What are its maintenance requirements if any? How efficient will it be in winter when there is less heat in the ambient air (you don't have this issue with ground source)? It will still work but will be worked harder and use more electricity. I'd try and get these independently verified before committing. Personally I'll just get another gas boiler.

I'd also maybe consider a CHP unit as an alternative.

I'd also maybe consider a CHP unit as an alternative. Is Infra red worth considering? Certainly is if you're thinking of picking off Boris as he gets out of his limo. Might be a bit obvious to security though, you would want to go for quality optical telescopic sights I reckon.

At the business end now. The whole SECC complex including the Hydro and the Armadildo are now under UN armed jurisdiction. Glasgow polis are not allowed in unless invited or chasing a bam.
Joe Biden is staying in Edinburgh but had apparently refused to fly in until "that racist Yorkshire cunt has fucked off."
Climate protesters are in town. I was fully supportive of their cause when they were blocking the M25 but I've got the fucking dentist on Wednesday and the cunts better not fuck my shit up. She might not be Glasgow's best dentist (she's not) but she's possibly its prettiest and I'll miss her for no cunt.

Joe Biden leading by example. Staying at the Queen's residence in Edinburgh and driving the 45 miles to Glasgow twice daily with his 12 car, heavily armoured, flown in from Merica, gas guzzling limo fucking zene entourage. Glasgow not good enough for him. I stupidly thought the cunt was taking climate change seriously but he's actually taking the proverbial piss.

Joe can have Edinburgh. Maybe he'll shit his pants again like he did in Rome.
Biden warned of a future where his children would be forced into a "racial jungle."
Biden told a gathering of black and Hispanic journalists that “unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.”
In 2007, he referred to Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.”
Seems pretty unracist to me. Just knows what is best for blacks as he is a white liberal elite. And he now wears a diaper and shits himself.

Diego the extreme chiropodist's avatar is making me giggle tonight, I don't know why.
Mekon's avatar still not blocked.
As for the future? Who knows.
I'm doing my best, yeah?
Like we all should, in our own little part of the world.
Those cunts with the money and power are gonna do just what they want to do. Because they can.
It's all moments in the history of human evolution

Johnson's government has made quite a song and dance about how they've organised this and it has fuck all to do with Scotland. We've also heard that the area is under UN jurisdiction with UN security. There are now chaotic scenes with thousands queuing to get in and the Guardian journalist blames the "Scottish hosts." Get absolutely fucked.

What have we learnt from the first day?
Basically we're fucked.
End deforestation by 2030? Too fucking late.
China to reach peak emissions in 2030? Smashing.
India to reach net zero by 2070? Too fucking late.
Johnson can't even be fucked wearing a mask next to 95 year old David Attenborough.
Biden is taking the fucking piss with his 21 vehicle motorcade, flown in on massive transporter planes.
Basically Greta is right. The cunts are at it. If you can't lead by example then get out the fucking room.
And finally, Boris cunting Johnson strutting about Kelvingrove like he fucking owned the place has managed to fuck off an entire city. He needs to understand how heavily despised he is here and show a bit of fucking respect.
