I was wondering where the original Brexit thread went and of course it ended up in The Bullingdon Club. How appropriate.
All the bullshit and lies that made it happen, that's old news and has been argued to a thousand deaths. FUCK THAT SHIT
What is it REALLY about?
Who is making big money out of it?
Are the EU complicit? "Look at what will happen to your country when you leave the EU" would send a strong message to other nations making LEAVE! noises.
Or, we could discuss the theoretical merits of Angela Raynor's tits and ginger minge, I'm hip to that also.

Perhaps we can discuss the merits of currywurst, schnitzel and sauerkraut as this will likely make up the Xmas food parcels that will be airdropped all over the UK in December.
Hopefully it will be pre-cooked as no cunt will be able to afford to put the oven on by then.

I've noticed that we seem to be running short of people with actual skills. No chefs, no tradies etc. I guess this what happens when every does media studies but can't boil an egg.
I read something from a teacher saying the kids didn't have any concept of how taps works. Water just magically comes out of the tap. No concept of pipework etc. Wonder how many people use stuff but have no clue about it?

The fuel crisis is an interesting one. Like many of the crises we are currently facing, it wasn't directly caused by Brexit but has certainly been exacerbated by it as we no longer have the protection of the EU energy market.
When Thatcher (oh yes) privatised the energy generation and supply it completely altered the way in which energy was procured by suppliers. Large companies could be both generators and suppliers but they were separate businesses and a generator will sell in the marketplace for the best price they can get while a supplier will buy as cheaply as possible, even if they are essentially the same company.
Supplier profit margins have been relatively low for years (~5%) so by imposing the ill-considered energy price cap, the situation where base costs rise above the capped price was a disaster waiting to happen. Now smaller suppliers are going tits up because they don't have the financial backing to ride this out and have their hands tied by the price cap.
So what the fuck has this got to do with Brexit? Well, as stated, if we were still in the energy market we would have protection against these rises. Prices in Europe are nowhere near as high as here (although Italy is close for some reason), also, any cunt remember Coco the fucking clown promising lower domestic fuel prices once we'd left the 'shackles' of the EU?

TORIES: "Hold one's pint..."

Dutch energy is probably the highest in Europe….at least 25% higher than any other EU country, so think yourselves lucky!

I went out last night to panic buy diesel, bog roll* and champagne.
The diesel and bog roll* are obvious and the champagne is to celebrate the spectacular failure of Brexshit. None of us could have imagined it would be this disastrous.
I had planned to get I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO tattooed on my forehead but I had no money left after filling up the car.
*Back on the Andrex quilts. Tried the Aldi "Luxury" but my finger went through a couple of times which didn't really feel particularly luxurious.

There’s a shortage of gas Europe wide….NL has only 50% reserves compared to 85% it would normally have at this time of year due to a colder winter.

The BBC said it's also due to shortfall in renewable sources. Not been very windy this year or something.
I have a local stream not too far away so I can have a shit and arse wipe with some dock leaves if it comes to it.
Also getting my crossbow and hosepipe ready for Mad Max style petrol theft.

It has been an unusually low wind year but there was also a fire that took out a major UK-France interconnector cable. This has caused gas prices to skyrocket as we have been more reliant on gas fired electricity generation than normal.

Not so sure on that. Seems plentiful supply from France at the moment.
