For WSBK anyway. No WSS or STK330. No reasons given that I can find. msvstatic.com/documents/WorldSBK%20Timetable.pdfThe weekend’s three Superbike races will be complemented by a full support programme, plus some off-track entertainment. So we have national junior supersport, national junior superstock, Ducati Tri options, World sidecars & Yamaha cup races. Forecast is warm but might be a shower. The crowd will be limited to a small number, but not sure if that will affect WSBK attendance figures which seemed to be dropping off in at this round. Anyone going? Tickets still available for Friday, £16.

No WSS or STK330 is a poor show.
I hate these long term contracts that circuits negotiate.
This years WSS and STK330 would be great fun at Brands.

Fooking crap. Can't see that any people turning up tbh. Why is that crap? Superbikes are the main event and they bore you apparently. Crowd is limited to 4000 so they will turn up.

It's crap because..........
You're not seeing the whole package. If I was paying to get in I'd want to see WSS600 and the 300s which have been brilliant not some old cunts doing tri-options trackday racing.
4000......Ok. So you can stick 60000 in Wembley but....what a joke.

To be honest I can't get excited about 300's no matter how close the racing and not that fussed about the 600's really. Don't know why they're canned at Donington but it'll be covid related. If I was lucky enough to get a ticket to see live international racing after a year with fuck all I'd be delighted to see three superbike races, watch the sidecars cos I'm a big fan and spend the rest of the time mulling and mingling.

For WSBK anyway. No WSS or STK330. No reasons given that I can find. The decision was taken to reduce the customs clearance complications after Brexit. From an article about the impact of Brexit on Motorcycle racing in Spanish mag Motociclismo: In the SBK World Championship the situation is more complex, because they have a large number of small teams in Supersport and Supersport 300, coming from all corners of Europe, so it was decided to limit the competition at the Donington Park appointment next July 4 exclusively to the Superbike category, and thus reduce complications to the maximum.

For WSBK anyway. No WSS or STK330. No reasons given that I can find. The decision was taken to reduce the customs clearance complications after Brexit. I had vague recollections about that, but cant find anything on it. One of the complications of having a race in India was the time needed to get the kit through customs. The Indian government wouldn't fast track it. They went to Russia. MotoGP went to Turkey. Countries on EU borders shouldnt be a problem really. I did a bike trip to Morocco and that took 2 hours to get through customs, because the Moroccans were overly bureaucratic. Maybe it was because they had to decide before Jan 1st when we werent sure if we had a deal or not. Seems daft now, but things were different back then. Perhaps someone has to stump up a bond for temporary importing all the kit.

Just edited my first post, but you're right to add the source. It was the uncertainty and also the expectation of the teething problems with the changes in procedures. Even without special deals, things should settle down to a manageable level as they are in other countries in the future.
The article mentions the problems for Pata Yamaha who have to cross the channel for virtually every round. But I imagine that by now they are relatively comfortable with the extra procedures and have been able to absob the extra cost.

Thanks, I thought I'd seen something with the details before. Should have googled it in Spanish F1 manages it. But the main issue I guess is the bond or insurance. Have a crash down Craner Curves and the team will be out retrieving every last nut and bolt. What happens if it all goes up in smoke? Do they have to take the ashes away in a little ern? Or get their log book stamped by an official. We have a trade deal, but as a lot of the kit comes from outside the UK & EU it wouldn't be covered by the trade deal. In the UK, the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce has negotiated for motor racing teams - most Formula 1 teams are based in the UK - a reduced fee of £ 240 (about € 270) plus VAT for processing, while the Premium is based on the material transported, which can amount to up to 40% of the value of the transported , which is refundable, or pay a non-refundable insurance premium that covers that amount. When I went to Morocco the tour guides said if a bike is written off they would have to take it back in the van, otherwise pay import duties and taxes when we left.

They didnt come here last year. Record laps a distinct possibility.
Not a good outlap for the Beemers at Melborne Loop. vd Mark straight on in the gravel and Sykes on his arse.

Rea fastest, Toprak 2nd, Sykes 3rd. Gerloff on his first visit to the track was 3rd towards the end but dropped down the order to 7th although that could have been a lap taken away. 20 laps and 0.84s behind. Forecast tomorrow has changed to utter shite. Welcome to England Garett. No doubt everyone will be telling him the track is slippy in the wet as its under the flight path to the airport.

If it rains I'd put money on Redding. Or Michael Rutter.

One of the reasons that I never saw a MotoGP race there, although I caught all but one of the 2 stroke races there (most of those had 250s, I don't think that Moto2 ever raced at Laguna).
