Just looked at the Tarkov thing. Looks a bit like an Arma 3 mod taken professional, a bit like PUBG started off like. There or loads of 'escape from' mods for Arma 3. Most of them need a lot of tweaking as even the most untrained soldier can seemingly snipe you with a handgun at 400m, which gets a bit annoying when you're supposed to be elite yourself.

Not looked at anything new game wise myself. I should do but I'm probably going to fire up Quake 3 later.

What fucks me off about modern gaming is the install size of everything. Not got a 4k TV or a console that uses 4k? FUCK YOU! HAVE A 120GB DOWNLOAD FULL OF 4K TEXTURES YOU CUNT!
It's no better on pc. Maximum install size suits all. Really fucking annoying. That and some shitting DLC you don't want but the cunts have to download it your build anyway.

DLC was a factor in me giving up gaming back in 2005. As well as my crumbling wrists and the lack of enjoyment due to getting into fits of rage with games lol.

They may as well make all games like Fortnite because you barely get more than the base game half the time anyway. If I'm being a cunt I'll just wait for 6 months then download the pirate version with all the dlc.
I've playing C64 this week. Not quite bored of it yet and that sound chip kicks the fuck out of the Spectrum's.

If you are REALLY into your sim racing you can drop a LOT of money. Direct drive wheels can be up to £5k but you won't find much change from £1k for one you have to build yourself. Add in VR and 'decent' graphics card to go with it you are talking another £1500. Then if you're really serious you'll need over £500 of racing frame to sit in and that won't include the price of the bucket seat.
I'm using a PSVR headset and some software so it'll run on PC. It'll do for now. The problem with sims is they use a lot of the CPU unlike general games where the GPU does all the heavy lifting. Bottom line is I'll probably be spending more again at some point as my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU.
The PC....an endless money pit. This said if I just wanted to play normal games at 1080p with decent graphics my old R580 card would have sufficed and I only paid £100 for that.
I created a virtual version of my neighbour and stuck him in GTA. Here he is taking Goose's bike from Mad Max for a spin in a skatepark.

Had to take out the GTX 1050 Ti as I just could not get it to work on my three monitor setup. Sometimes it would work on two but rarely. Won't go into the boring tech reasons why but it isn't a good card for a multi monitor setup so it has to go. So I'm currently running the on the Intel 530 built in graphics and all three monitors working fine. But this has curtailed my gaming. Scanning eBay for a good price on a second hand GTX 1650.

1050 is bottom of the barrel at the moment I guess. I had a rx580 which was pretty good for the money for 1080p.
Definitely going to have spent more money on a hot cpu. Driving sims are cpu heavy and it's holding my gpu back. Annoying as for normal gaming a 9100f for £70 is as good as some mega cpu looking at benchmarks on YouTube. Spend £300 on cpu and it's no faster than a £70 one.
My lad wants a gaming pc for his birthday. He's saved up £300 on his side and if you can find a 1650 or 1660 he can have my old cpu/ram/mboard and I'll upgrade.

The money people want for second hand GPU's at the minute is frightening. As soon as I put mine on eBay I was getting offers to buy it now for over £100 in seconds. In fact I got several. Decided to let the auction run. I will probably just wait until shops have stock again as there were plenty of retailers selling GTX 1650 Supers for £170. Might take a few months but better than spending that price on a second hand one you don't know the history of. Seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding CPU's now and what price point offers the best bang for your buck.

If you don't plan on CPU heavy stuff save the money. This said when I got my 9100f it was £68. It's now over £100!! 50% increase. This is whyI bought the 3060 when I could as I don't see prices going down for a bit. I don't understand why people are so made for the PS5 though. It's a bit like the PS2 ; mass shortages and there wasn't any games to play on it anyway as such. Nearly everything apart from Cyberpunk and Dark Souls are just current gen games.
This said, I watched my lad playing Cyberpunk on the standard Xbone One and it was shit. Poor blurry textures, bad frame rate, clearly shouldn't have come out on old hardware.

Yeah I was reading about that game looking shit on earlier consoles. My CPU is fine for now. I would get more memory before I updated the CPU.

Fuck me, the price of stuff. I bought a Thrustmaster T300 wheel and pedal set for £180 just before March lockdown and now some places are wanting £399 for them!
Going to spunk some money on decent pedals. Losing time on trailbraking, you've got no feel with standard pedals, even with silly rubber bungs etc. Going to get a loadcell set for proper braking feel.
