Not really. I genuinely have a fabulous ability to ignore anything that isn't relevant or important. I'm rarely on social media and I don't follow tabloid journalism. Which sadly is pretty much all journalism these days in their tacky obsession with chasing clicks and views. Negativity sells.
Every cunt has an opinion but nowadays every cunt thinks their opinion is important and has to be agreed with. Failure to comply means you're an enemy. I don't play the game so it doesn't affect me in the slightest.

All she’s said is “listen to the science”.....”we have had enough”......”how dare you”.....I don’t doubt her sincerity but she’s obviously being used as a front man by the grown ups. I know that the climate is changing because that’s what happens!...the climate changes....partly because of our consumption and output, but there’s a lot of alarmism at play here.

Why are glaciers melting?
Since the early 1900s, many glaciers around the world have been rapidly melting. Human activities are at the root of this phenomenon. Specifically, since the industrial revolution, carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions have raised temperatures, even higher in the poles, and as a result, glaciers are rapidly melting, calving off into the sea and retreating on land.
Even if we significantly curb emissions in the coming decades, more than a third of the world’s remaining glaciers will melt before the year 2100. When it comes to sea ice, 95% of the oldest and thickest ice in the Arctic is already gone.
Scientists project that if emissions continue to rise unchecked, the Arctic could be ice free in the summer as soon as the year 2040 as ocean and air temperatures continue to rise rapidly.

Fair enough Beefus. The guy who talks most sense on the subject is David Attenborough and it's frightening what the human species has done to this planet. Like i said, old cunts can die off having had their V8 and 2 stroke thrills. I became a grandad for the first time last year and the wee man will likely live till the 22nd century (think about that for a second) and i worry that the world will be a right fucking state by then. |

That's a point of concern though for me. If you have a different opinion from their rhetoric you are a labelled a Trump supporter, racist, uneducated, right wing, misogynistic and generally some sort of utter bastard. Other than being a bit of a bastard still, I'm none of those things.
Whilst I don't agree with Meeks doing a burnout on her head, I see no reason for her to be above criticism if she wants to have a global platform to discuss her views or the views she has been told to have.
I tend to avoid the political discussions on here and in life in general now as I really don't think people are capable of listening any more. Battle lines drawn and the opposing view has to be converted or crushed.

The original point of the thread was not to objectively criticise her (which still wouldn't be OK imo) or even disagree with her views on climate change. It was, quite simply, a grown man mocking a teenage autistic girl for struggling to answer a question.

No one is above criticism in my opinion. You may well interpret that Meeks is simply mocking a defenceless girl. I read it as he is mocking the fact she should be taken seriously as an expert on climate change. In his usual click-bait way. I like Meeks and I like you. I don't know if Meeks is intentionally on the wind up and looking to goad certain posters on here at times or not. But to suggest someone or something is above criticism isn't something I believe in.

That's a massive leap Droog from my saying there's a lot of Trump talk. The fat orange cunt is the most famous climate change denier that i can think of, hence the label. He is all of the above too but that's another story. This is about climate change.
I'm all for free speech and a Frankie Boyle style of humour but i agree with Noodles on this occasion.

It wasn't totally directed at you Pants but it is a leap that is made far too often these days. It works in reverse though also. People are quick to label you a snowflake if you aren't cool with them for making uneducated assumptions. Whether you're for or against isn't going to offend me in the slightest. I'd still go for a beer with you or anyone else on here.
