Looks nice at the front. Not a fan of under-seat pipes though, so 1990´s.
Probably plenty powerful enough for most people and more useable fun than a fireplace. Can't see many people putting in the effort and money to get one out of Japan though.
Sad that we can only get the "stupid" bikes in Europe now, either shit slow twins or 1000cc plus 200bhp rockets, no middle ground.
Won't Brexit untie the UK from Euro emissions regs? Surely there must be some benefit to leaving the EU? Getting the GSXR750 back in the showrooms would probably make it all worthwhile (or at least provide a bit of moral compensation for chlorinated chicken).

I think the process is we dump EU regs only if they are really stupid and not tied to much. I'd imagine it's easier for all involved to keep the emissions stuff and we don't need UK market cars. Then again the American's have different regs.
The sports bike scene is now 47hp or 200hp. Daft really. Rumours of a KTM RC490. If they could do that with 60hp and not much more weight that would tickle the spot. My dream of a return to small capacity 4 cyclinder bikes will never happen though.

What's a realistic figure for a GSX-R750 using today's 1000 as a bench mark? 150hp if it was a triple, so 160'ish for a 4-cylinder version? Do you need more from a sports bike on the road? Arguably not, but the engine would have to be completely redesigned to meet Euro5 emission regs; the UK isn't likely to adopt different rules anytime soon just because we are no longer going to be part of the EU, mainly because we've signed up to the Paris Climate Agreement.
If I had the money I'd buy an updated GSX-R750 as soon as it's released, but only if it was based on the 2016 GSX-R1000 chassis, otherwise it would be too small for me.

Some italian company makes a turbo kit for the rc390 taking it up to 60hp.....utter waste of money in the real world but if I had money to waste I'd get one for the sheer absurdity of it. An also get that CBR600 on grey import to show off.
Makes your own reader's special Neil. Droog will help you bang it together.

I lost track of the evolution, but the 2019 GSXR750 was still listed at 150bhp, same as ours Neil, just with more electronics and maps. Not sure when they stopped selling new in Europe but it looks like there was a revamp for the 2017 model, but no extra power (the latest service manual covers 2011 - 2016 bikes). I wonder if you brought a 2019 750 from the US, would you be able to register it as a grey import? I'd rather that than a Jap CBR6.

We have a collective obsession with bhp which is utterly ridiculous unless you are racing. Torque curves and gear ratios are more relevant to road riding and, oh fuck, have I turned into Mason??? Whatever, we are obsessed with racing and want to emulate the cunts on the telly. When streetfighter style bikes came out, they were built to a price, largely detuned, had rough suspension and were heavy. They appealed to very few cunts and were never going to tempt horsepower and performance junkies. Opportunity missed.

I was referring to small twins with 60bhp like Mekon was saying. I'm firmly in the "middle ground" camp, I don't feel comfortable with a 1000, be it a twin or a 4. TBH even the 750 is a bit big for me. My perfect bike would have been the Daytona 675R, but the bastards stopped making it and the price of the last model second hand ones shot up....

If I can get some decent strength back into the shoulders I think I will go back a 600. They are the best middle ground.

Our obsession with bhp isn't helpful yet it's the benchmark we always use to judge a bike. Unless you ride everywhere at maximum revs it tells you precisely fuck all. There's about 40-50hp difference between my 'Blade and my RSV2 and it makes zero difference on the road. Weight, midrange torque, flickability all make the real difference.

Surprised they persist with the underseat pipes..doesnt look that different to the previous model, front end aside. I would have expected them to make it look more line a mini-Blade.
