Our obsession with bhp isn't helpful yet it's the benchmark we always use to judge a bike. Unless you ride everywhere at maximum revs it tells you precisely fuck all. There's about 40-50hp difference between my 'Blade and my RSV2 and it makes zero difference on the road. Weight, midrange torque, flickability all make the real difference. +1 low to midrange grunt is what matters....when does anyone ever rev it to the max?....apart from on a track?... Don’t know if I could go back to an I4 now....V4 I’d like to try, but I love twins. I’d still have my RSV1000 if it hadn’t spat out big end bits during a regular service!....the day before a bike trip to Spain!!..Whether I could still physically ride it is another matter but it was great fun to ride when I had it.

I still have my RSV but it's barely turned a wheel since I got the ' Blade. It does feel lardy and top-heavy in comparison but it's still a quick bike and even after 18 years, those Brembos are still the best brakes I've ever used.

Mine was the standard Mille, but I did a trackday at Knockhill on an RSV-R with uprated Brembos and the difference was amazing. Got back on my VFR750 to ride home and almost ran a crossroad as I nearly couldn’t stop quick enough ...VFR brakes felt like mush in comparison.

Aprilias 660 that is coming out looks good. 100bhp twin, <170kgs. I'll do the heavy lifting.

I'd take that over the CBR600 anyday. Love that old Reggiani paint theme they've rekindled.

One more cylinder would be nice, but yeah, looks good.
