Watched the banzai cup quarter final derby on the telly box yesterday. Delighted with the result obviously but seriously unimpressed with the physical side of Motherwell's tactics.
The steel men right enough.
A red card in the 1st minute. Geez a break.
Deserved by the way. Ironic that a similar tackle by Roberts was only a yellow. And that his unfortunate teammate was Mugabe!!
Biggest surprise for me was that Hibs actually scored. Was a decent game.
Was Elnoodle at the game?

I had every intention of going but turned into a fair weather fan as soon as I found out it was shown live on cooncil telly.
First off, fair play to the high bees. They won the game fair and square by employing the sneaky tactic of scoring more goals than us.
Not much you can do when you're down to 10 men inside a minute. I don't believe that Mugabi's tackle was malicious but it was certainly reckless and a deserved red. The entire team seemed a bit too fired up from the start.
Despite that, I thought that we recovered well and it was a fairly even game. Typical Scottish Cup match full of drama.
Our season has fizzled out to fuck all now. We've been poor since boxing day with no signs of improvement. We are stuck in that crazy mid table zone with 5 teams split by a single point. We need to start getting some results or it will be a bottom 6 finish.

Can easily go tits up. The middle ground in the league is tighter than a virgin's fanny and anyone who can string 2 wins together goes 4th. |

Absolute scenes tonight at Fir Park. A shite first half saw us fortunate to go in 1-1 at the break after a dominant performance from the Jam Tarts. Second half, Kevin Van Veen comes on and we're a different team. We're always a different team when he's on the park and I don't understand why he starts so many games on the bench. Very dramatic stuff, particularly in a lengthy injury time where we soaked up a lot of pressure but we got the win and sit 4th which is nuts given that we have only won about 3 games since boxing day. I expect we'll end up 5th after Saturday but that still gets us into Europe.
Special mentions go to Celtic, Rangers and Dundee United.
Celtic were a basket case at the start of the season, had lost their first choice manager in Eddie Howe and brought in the unknown Ange Postecoglou with very little time to rebuild. They've won the League title and league Cup. Quite astonishing achievement.
Rangers are in the final of the Europa League having knocked out some of the giants of Europe and as much as I despise the cunts, the achievement needs to be applauded. Good luck to the bigoted fucks on Wednesday as a win means a modest financial boost for Motherwell.
Dundee United appointed the unknown rookie Tam Courts as manager to some sniggers at the start of the season and they have turned in some excellent performances, particularly against the old firm. I expect them to leapfrog us into 4th on Saturday but I would concede that they absolutely deserve it. I envisage a bright future for TC in management but I think he needs another couple of seasons at United to consolidate his position.
And then there's Arbroath...

Agree reluctantly about the achievements of Celtic, Dundee Utd and The Rangers. Like how you omitted Hearts. Nice one, they are cunts.

Not mentioned Eddie's Brighton for a while. Going great guns and hammered Man You last week. Impressive.

We've been so poor at home results wise. A win, and goals have been a long time coming. Not as long as 39 years mind to avenge the FA cup final outcome.

What were your thoughts on the Maloney debacle? Personally I never ever thought that he sounded like a manager in interviews but there's no doubt that he wasn't given enough time. Youse should never have got rid of Jack Ross imo. Look at Aberdeen too. They've spent a fortune on a failed experiment. Another American owner too. Not to mention Dundee getting relegated. I know that they're a shadow of their former selves but still a big city team being absolutely shite. |

In Scotland the primary income for clubs is gate receipts so when you've got 2 clubs with 50k season ticket holders each, the next biggest probably on a quarter of that and most teams on a tenth, then you can easily see the disparity in resources. Plus, champions league qualifying brings in even more income to the top 2 teams that the rest of us can only dream about. It is what it is. Scottish football has improved dramatically in the last few years and continues to get better. I've even watched a few decent matches in the championship which absolutely no cunt gave a fuck about a few years ago. |

We had a bad run but were in a cup final and had sold our best player. Maloney was a cheap experiment gone wrong who was an assistant to a decent manager with set ideas but with world class players at his disposal but still won fuck all. Hibs are following the Watford model firing managers if they don't achieve instant success. Fucking joke. |

I am surprised there's been nowt said about that epic finish to the premier league season, both teams coming from behind in their last two games with the pressure really on, and fuck me with 15 minutes to go i really thought Liverpool were going to sneak the title at the death, amazing stuff from City to clinch it though.
Takes some thinking about to lose only 2 games and still not take the title likewise a couple of years earlier when i think they only lost 3 games to finish 2nd, just shows how much they've raised the bar between themselves, and Guardiola's management record is now 13 seasons.....10 x 1st, 2 x 2nd, 1 x 3rd, knocks everyone else into oblivion.
If there's a greater head to head stats wise i just dont know where it is.
