They won't beat Italy playing like that. Good, but not good enough.

Barely beat Denmark playing like that.
Never a penalty. Terrible spot kick, woeful. Luckily the tiny attention seeking 'keeper wanted the glory of standing there with the ball in his hands and gave the dangerous prat a second go.

I think Denmark scored their first goal when they were awarded a free kick closer to the box than the one they had just taken. For some reason one of our players had 2 arms around a Dane and wrestled him to the ground, about 5m away from the ref. The ref blew for a foul after England had defended the free kick, no need to foul him. Damsgaard hit it well, but it was nowhere near the corner of the goal, Pickford could have done better and will get the criticism, but whoever gave away the foul was a dork. The penalty was a soft one. I think it was Lineker who said if the ref hadnt given it then VAR wouldn't have over-ruled and given it. It was that close. I think a minor touch and Sterling went down. We are playing Italy next, who never do that sort of thing Worst penalty take so far? Lucky to get the rebound. England had a number of chances on goal and Schmeichel played well and kept most of them out. The Danes helped us out with the OG, Sterling would probable have hit it directly at Schmeichel like he did with the other shot. Pleased we won be we got away with that, rode our luck.

I'm no expert, but I think that Denmark were "borderline" in so many tackles and interventions that the ref felt he had to do something and gave the penalty more for accumulation of events. Probably totally unjustified if looked at in isolation, but Denmark were, in general taking to the limit of acceptable. The international press seem to be making it out like some kind of miscarriage of justice that will affect footbal for the rest of eternity though... but bloody hell, it's only a game, and what happened happened. Let sleeping dogs lie FFS, it's not like we scored with our hand is it, like some we could mention

Can't say I'll suffer so many years of hurt if England don't win but....
Having seen how much it means to other people I'm feeling charitable enough to hope that England win. It seems good for the mood of country.
Don't think Rossi will get podium 200 though.

If you see the OG again, watch Sterling. Did he have his arms raised and screaming as the ball was going in the goal, or was he claiming a penalty and swallow diving as he had been touched on the leg? I really cant decide. Trying to 'win' penalties is still part of the game these days, which is a pity.

I like most sports, but the amount of unsporting behaviour from players takes the edge off football. I cant take it that seriously. The Italians are one of the worst teams for diving, it would be funny if they out dived us and won on Sunday. Hopefully it wont go to penalties, laser pens at the ready Edited clips on social media or did it really happen?

Obviously want England to win but they need to be in front just for the sake of the game, jeez if the Italians are leading late on they'll kill it stone dead by way of theatrics.
Sterling is a cheating little cunt but if he beats the eyeties at their own game i'll be a happy chappy.

Extra time and penalties to be replaced with a diving competition on Sunday. Points will be awarded for style and technical execution. In addition to the Golden Boot, a Golden Bafta nomination is to be included in the list of peripheral awards. It's also rumoured that Roy Keane has significantly altered his diet and by Sunday will have stopped banging on about a lack of quality in the final turd. And finally, regardless of the result on Sunday, football will not be coming home. However, should England win, it won't be far off 😉 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hampden_Park_(1873%E2%80%9383)

yeah it probably wasnt a penalty, but fuck it. Lampard scored in SA and it wasnt awarded and Maradona bummed us out of the WC to name only 2 high profile cases of cheating/bad decisions...Also, VAR should have given Kane a penalty.
In short, do I give a rats bollock that Sterling went over easy? Nope. Drawing a foul is, and always has been a part of the game.
Suck it up Denmark...Sorry, I mean get fucked.

Thought Kasper Schmeichel had a tremendous game last night. On that form he could well win a move back to Falkirk.
