Lost me at Catherine Tate. Hate everything she does. She wasn't too bad in Dr Who, but that was more of a serious role for Tate; however, the rest of her stuff is garbage IMO!

Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators - Netflix
This is actually really interesting and actually very honest. No denials of steroid use, lots of admissions of all manner of drug use and sex. That and actually wanting to steamroller some of the contestants sometimes.
The people involved were actually very ordinary and a bit like naive record artists, got fucked over the TV company in the long run. It may have been entertainment but it seems it was actually a pretty intensely physical job and people got pretty messed up with injuries etc. The intial half of the 1st season was pretty bad and very dangerous and it was only when they got some guy in from completely outside of a sports history did they come up with better, safer and quicker to set up game set. After that it was all up and sex, drugs and rock n'roll for bit. Worth a watch if just for the fact that most of the cast actually seem quite likeable and as I said, honest.

ARNOLD - Netflix doc with, um...Arnie!. Three parter starting from his Austrian roots, dominant and sometimes violent father, coming to the USA etc...I enjoyed it. He's honest about the bodybuilding scene and, although he was a bit of a twat to other competitors, he acknowledges it and comes across as very self-deprecating at times. Astute too, a millionaire before he got into films as a result of his property acquisitions.

Arnold is a proper shark cunt. One of my favourite docs is Pumping Iron. He's got in the heads of everyone before the competition starts. Rossi mindgames.
That bit with Ken Waller hiding Mike Katz's t shirt is comedy gold.
If you've not seen it, see it. Even if you think bodybuilding be gay as, see it. Interesting film.

Watching Men in Black for the first time in ages and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it! Tommy Lee Jones is excellent in it, Will Smith in his best role IMO and Linda Fiorentino is as hot as hell! Great script, spot on comedy timing and just a lot of fun.

Mission Impossible : Dead Reckoning
Tom Cruise is back to wear more face masks and do stunts. And this time the enemy is a sentient AI. The governments of the world are racing to find 2 halves of a key....a key that will unlock the AIs source code....and that will allow them to control the world....or something. Anyway Tom Cruise is running around looking for a key, as is everyone else who wants to kill or capture Tom Cruise. That's basically your plot for this FIRST HALF of the story. That's right, this ends half way through the story. See you at the cinema next time suckers!
Don't expect anything amazing, it's just mission impossible but it was still loads better than indiana granddad and the walking stick of doom. It's never quite over the top enough to be utterly stupid like Fast and Furious or Indiana Jones got. There's CGI but it's not completely abused. There is what I thought was a gaping plot hole but I won't spoil it but if Noodle is reading them Tom Cruise dies (maybe or maybe not!)
I'd give it 7.5/10

The Inside Man. Netflix.
This is a bank heist with a difference. Without giving away spoilers, the robbery involves four robbers, the leader being a clever cunt, 50 hostages, a smart arse detective, a nazi sympathiser bank owner and Jody Foster who i was employed by the banker as a hostage negotiator. It’s complicated, it’s clever, it’s enthralling and despite no tit action is well worth a watch. Famous cunts in it include Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Christopher Plummer. They’re robbing a bank but they’re not apparently robbing a bank. Spike Lee directs by the way.

Wide Boyz - Amazon freevee
Bizarrely interesting documentary about 2 brits in a very niche part of the climbing world. If this was biking it would off-roading on a sportsbike or something.
Basically there's climbing which you can stick your fingers into cracks which apparently is easy, then there's 'off width' which means that essentially you can't jam your grip into cracks you've got ram in arms and legs at odd angles and basically hold yourself up with anything you can ram in a crack.
No tits but someone may think you are watching gay porn from all the shouting, grunting and screaming about 'keep it in there' and stuff.

A Man Called Otto Sky movies
Great movie, Tom Hanks is excellent as a widower who wants to end it all but fails repeatedly. He has high standards and isn’t afraid to call out stupidity and comes across as a crabby bastard. The supporting cast is excellent, they all see something in him which isn’t easy given his cuntish demeanour. 9/10 No tits

Gran Turismo. 2023.
Well I thought this would be utter shit but in fact it's just ok I guess. This is the 'true' story of Jann Mardenborough who went from gamer to real life racer. The true story is back over a decade ago Nissan partnered with Sony to run the Gran Turismo academy and the fastest virtual gamers were given a chance to become real racers. I actually gave it a go myself and got down to last 1% but those quicker were a fair bit quicker. This is sort of the story of the contest and what followed it.
The main thing is that for dramatic effect bits of the story have been swapped around and it's now set in the present day, not in 2012 or whatever. The first half hour feels a bit like a Sony/Nissan advert but it eventually settles down. The acting is slightly wooden and the movie scoring is dreadfully 'stock', like nobody of note was available to actually write a decent score.
I suppose at least it does have a decent amount of driving in. No tits though. The rivals are a bit cartoon bad guy though. I suppose once again it's just for dramatic effect.

BTW, there's a Yorkshire gritstone route which ends in a "Head jam to the top". I'll dig out my climbing route books when I get home!

Watched Boiler Room again the other day, really good.
"A college dropout, attempting to live up to his father's high standards, gets a job as a broker for a suburban investment firm which puts him on the fast track to success. But the job might not be as legitimate as it first appeared to be".

Naked Lunch (1991)
After developing an addiction to the substance he uses to kill bugs, an exterminator accidentally kills his wife, and becomes involved in a secret government plot being orchestrated by giant bugs in a port town in North Africa.
I once tried to read the book. I'm not sure the film made it any easier.
Rating: Apple out of ill-fitting trousers.
