I have started watching Band of Brothers for the first time ever! The entire series was on Pick, so I thought that I'd give it a go... Wow! The first episode plodded along nicely, setting up the main characters, but then Ep2 kicked in and it's basically been one of the following; tense, moving, graphic, numbing or a combination of all 4.

Band of Brothers was immense. Survivors of the original regiment claimed it was very authentic. Enjoy this.

Funny enough i was going to mention Band of Brothers.
Just watched it for a second time and it really is gripping. Love the veterans bit at the start. These guys are properly brave.
I bought the book Easy Company Soldier written by Sergeant Don Malarky second hand from the states and he had signed it for someone so that’s a keeper.
Brilliant book, warts and all he tells his story from training to Normandy, the hell of Bastonne where he lost his best mate and two others lost legs. What a man and what a story. Got to know his life after war too. He is a brilliant author and I’m not ashamed to say i cried when I finished it.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get shot down in flames about this one, but Calendar Girls always sets me off, more so since I lost Dad to cancer. Still a great film though; funny, heart wrenching and heart warming. It's one of those films what makes me feel as though I've not wasted my time watching it. Even though the underlying subject matter and the whole reason for the film is upsetting (it's also based on true events), it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling; it's the same feeling I get when I watch The Dish, The Worlds Fastest Indian, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and Secondhand Lions. |

Well since we're all in confession mode, I howled like a baby at the end of Anal Jizz Gurglers 4. Compared to the third installment it's a real tear jerker and you're well advised to have a large box of tissues within easy reach for the entirety of the movie.
