Rea's hard done by act is wearing thin already. This season looks like it could get tasty. Rea has always been aggressive in his passes, especially when the old rules stuck him back to 9th in the 2nd race when he won the 1st. Borderline at best most of the time. I detected a gloves off attitude from him and Bautista post race underneath the usual PR. Fancy the sprint race will scrape more leathers and paint. It’s about time he got a proper challenger, I always felt Sykes was too soft with him and should have given him some of his own medicine.

Paint and leathers intact. Bautista is bossing this.
Interesting comment from Shakey about the Ducati engine. It fires in reverse which slightly affects stability on the brakes but exiting corners under power it doesn't want to run wide. Hence the drive that Alv is getting. He seems to be the only Ducati rider absolutely nailing it.

It looks like it gives you power of being Casey Stoner without being Casey Stoner. Looks like Bautista is only one with the confidence to keep the throttle pinned as the front end looks a bit nervous at times. Wasn't much of a race other than Rea sitting him up in race 1 (which I thought he was entitled to do). At least Rea knows he won't be doing any easy wins by the look of it. Good job he broke all those records before Bautista turned up.

I really do think that it is Bautista alone making the difference. The bike is performing woefully with every other rider. Take Bautista out of the equation and everyone would be shaking their heads at what a bad job Ducati had done with the new bike. I doubt it will receive any performance handicaps this year unless any of the other Ducati riders start backing Bautista up with podiums. I can see Kawasaki quitting the series if they continue to be trounced. Have to admit I am finding it all funny so far. Probably get a bit boring by mid season though.
If I was Eugene I would quit that team and phone up Ten Kate. They obviously do not have the budget to run Ducati's. Reminds me of a similar situation James Haydon found himself in during the 1997 WSB season. Even he had the sense to quit the team before the season ended. He was lucky not to be dead on several occasions due to mechanic incompetence.

Bautista has experience with Ducati V4’s and gp’s but zero experience riding at the front. Scarily for the rest he will get better. I’m loving this after Kawasaki domination. To be fair to Chas, because of his injuries he’s doing his testing in the races so is on the back foot. In his interview he talked about changing his riding position to improve things. That’s incredible and shouldn’t be happening on a race weekend.

I think the bigger budget teams have enough spare parts ready to build a brand new bike together from in case of a bike crash and fire like ELav's bike suffered. Plus they can do it in less than 23 hours. They said on Eurosport they got the bike together but it was pissing out oil from somewhere. His team have run Kawasakis in the past and got the Ducati late on, so perhaps cant build a bike from scratch with their eyes closed yet.

Also, as the Ducati is a new bike and maybe they stretched themselves supplying 4 bikes, the GoEleven team got theirs late. Maybe they haven't got loads of spare parts built up. I'd be worried if they used much of the original bike on the rebuild, with it hitting a wall, catapulting in the air and catching fire.

They are a small team with a tiny budget. Fuck knows why they have tried to run a Ducati. You have to throw money at them. Always have.

Don't think anyone from WSB will be getting an invite to GP after this.

Au contraire mon ami, au contraire. At the moment it is exciting to see things shaken up. But if it continues like this, the only entertainment will be seeing Melandri wrestle his GPz750 Turbo round the track.

So we've traded one dominating rider/bike pairing for another... I don't call that exiting. Not taking anything away from Baustisa, as he is riding the V4R beautifully, but that Duke definitely has a drive and power advantage; so fair play to Ducati for bringing a gun to a knife fight (sic)! I want to see close, exciting racing in WSB, regardless of who is riding what.
Why is Rea telling the truth, which is there for all to see, wearing a bit thin? We all moan about personality free corporate robots, spouting the company line, then when someone bucks that trend e.g. Crutchlow, Edwards, Rea, they're seen as moaning bastards? I'd rather hear what's on a riders mind any day of the week than some arse kissing, sponsor friendly drone. Loads of people were having a pop at Rea last year for having no personality.
