I saw Plant and the Strange Sensation at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange and they were fucking excellent. That being said we were right at the front and feet from a speaker. I swear my hair (it was a fair length then) was blowing like a still from a Runrig album. Had to retreat after a couple of numbers.

I've seen him a fair few times over the years including the legendary Page/plant tour. He always delivers. I particularly like his been there done that attitude toward a Zep reunion. Yes we'd all have loved to see it and they'd have raked in a fortune but it had the potential to be completely shite and destroy their legacy. He seems happy enough playing venues the size of Barrowlands but he'll likely be on my 2022 deadpool, the ancient cunt.

I've also seen him a few times and he definitely isn't full of himself. Down to earth cunt it seems. He's a big Wolves fan and slums it with his mates behind the goal. I like that. Bet he still gets a regular shag 😁

I don't know why I'm digging the fuck out of this. Not a massive fan of jazz variants, other than Chet Baker.
Is there not a collective of these dudes in London? I went to see The Comet is Coming a couple of years ago. I'd be lying if I said I loved every minute of it but the vast majority was really good and I'm not a jazz cunt. I also went to see Kamasi Washington. I was really looking forward to it but it was total shite. Must have been 15 cunts in his band and each one got at least 2 lengthy solo spots. Awful. "Just play a fucking song!" I kept shouting at the dismal jazz wankers. Call me a philistine, but that reminds me of this

Watching Liam Gallagher at Reading. Camera tracks his swagger through backstage temporary structures to the main stage. It's late at night, pitch black and he's wearing shades. Fortunately he doesn't trip over anything or walk into any cunt. He's also dressed head to toe in 1995 and looks like the cutting edge of extreme bellendery.
He launches into his Oasis tribute act and, well, it's not 1995 anymore is it?
Any Oasis fans still holding out for a reunion should watch this to see how underwhelming it would be. He looks like what he is - a 50 year old man playing at being 25. His singing isn't quite Ian Brown shite but he has a 1/4 octave range and just looks and sounds like yesterday's man.
Tragic.

He acts like he's some sort of young rebel, while dressing like someone from the 90's impersonating a Mod from the 60's. Having said that, as far as Oasis go, I liked the 1st album but that's about it.

Whenever I see a tuba in a band I think of these guys Filmed in Brighton I see. I love a horn section. Brian the UB40 saxophonist deserves a mention on the sad thread.

I fucking hated Oasis when I was a student. Their overly popular music interupting my individualism got right on my tits. Never bought any of their music and essentially tried to avoid them. Until I got a job and one of our subbies offered to take all of us from the office to an Oasis gig, travel, gig, hotel, dinner and booze all paid for. So I put my musical snobbery to one side and accepted (who wouldn't right? I'd have gone to an S Club Seven gig under those conditions) They were frankly fucking brilliant. I've always held them in a higher regard since then. Still not bought any of their music though, wouldn't go that far.

First gig in almost 2 years last night was the superbly miserable Arab Strap at Barrowlands.
Fucking brilliant night.

Jazz Club was great. My old man was into the Jazz but not the abstract shit, it still had to hold sway to some musical theory. About as far out as he'd go would be maybe Weather Report. Tbh when I was kid I was always intrigued by the album covers.

Off to see Michael Rother tonight. Total fucking legend and it's an absolute privilege to see the cunt.
Bowie wanted him for Heroes (which Neu! Inspired) but it never happened.

Re Gallagher. Just got around to reading christmas persent from the kids, Mark Lanegans biog. Fuck its hardcore, heavy junkie tales. He recants a spat he got into with Liam who goes all shouty and posturing whilst hiding behind his enormous security. Like the school weed who's best mates with the class bully. Gallagher comes across as a total tool. Lanegan by his own admission is a junkie first, musician second, he's properly tough and a big fit unit. He would have mashed Gallagher but for the paid muscle. Shame.
