You have to wonder if Haslam will in this year. Running away with it, even with the showdown format has is still way ahead. Then his bike fails him on the outlap of Q1. It will make for an interesting R1 though.

You never know, he could avoid some 1st lap leaders pile-up. He said he wants to be 8th by the end of lap one. Possible I guess.
Still think it'd be funny if Brookes wins the title. The showdown would be abolished after that.
Like to see something out there like a Bridewell win.

Oh well, best of a bad situation for Halsam there but already the showdown is reduced to two people. Brookes, Irwin, Ray and Hickman all fluffed it.
Ray is totally overhyped at the moment. He'd probably go better with a Ben Spies cut rather than trying to look like that ponce out of Funboy 3. Silly haircuts get you nowhere in motorsport. Look at Slight and Gobert and even Rossi with his mohican and then broken leg.

I guarantee Haslam won't win the championship now. He is about to hit a streak of bad luck. That poor kid is cursed.

I like Brad Ray and I think he is hampered by the package he is on. Hicken is a good guy but a notorious tightwad.
They use Bitubo suspension because his younger brother is the importer. It's good stuff but it is not ohlins and doesn't come with the support that ohlins and k-tech do in BSB.
Stuart is a believer in improving the stock parts rather than having bespoke stuff made. No one else is doing anything close to Brad who is also on a Suzuki.
Love to see him either move to WSB next year or sign with Birdy and get into the Ducati fold.

I agree, I think Ray is riding beyond the ability of the machine.

Agree regarding Ray, somewhat hidden by Guinters crash but on a proper factory bike he was absolutely flying at Suzuka. Impressed those that mattered.

P.S Happy for the Devizes Swearbox, even if he is fully fit cant see Hopkins getting back into the team. Fancy him for a win at Brands

Finally got around to watch all the racing that I missed over the previous weekend.
Great results for Dixon and Bridewell, amazing ride from the back of the grid in Race 1 for Haslam. I that Leon will do enough to win the title and ride sensibly; Race 2 proved that IMO.
Unless Moto-Rapido can stretch to another bike, and it doesn't hamper the team from a fincanial/logistics point of view, I agree with Mekon; I like Hopkins, but his time has passed IMO.

Brookes looks fast and could do the double, Redding struggling he's not finding Oulton easy. I've got a couple of paddock passes for tomorrow, anyone know if these allow access anywhere extra as the paddock is open to everyone at Oulton.

From my photography days I don't think there's anything to be gained from a paddock pass at Oulton. As you've said the paddock is an open one anyway but you won't be allowed in pitlane or anything. Only really in places like Brands and Silverstone where they can segregate paddocks is the 'paddock' pass anything specia; but to his credit Palmer seems to want to keep it open for most rounds.

Thanks mekon, I couldn't think of anything from previous years visiting. They do normally allow a pitwalk for anyone on the morning of the race at Oulton, last year we got to meet most of the riders and my son had his photograph taken with them and got signed pictures. Just checked and there is a pitwalk at 11:20 tomorrow and a vip one before the race.

Rain heading to Oulton via Liverpool. Might be a wet/dry/wet/dry day. They said on Eurosport yesterday Ducati had found the cause of Brookes' blowups, although they didnt mention that they had definitely fixed it. Redding said he was enjoying OP for the first time, but found it scary. They tested there but he only managed 17 laps.

BSB is great so far. Placings are pretty random from the two rounds so far. Nice to see Redding have a little purple patch in race two.
