Scary stuff Neil, hope they find out what went on just so you can all put it behind you, that being the ideal situation of course. Hope it really was just a one off.
How old are your boys?
When I hit a tree when mountain biking I was really pleaed to see how my 15 year old son coped. No panic, and kept completely level headed, its one of the few good sides to an episode like this.

Sad updates. All the best beefus and neilf's wife. Put my unusual (for me) headaches into perspective - probably stress related - mekon's parents topic could get an update.

Hope your wife is OK Neil. I guess not knowing what the issue is will be causing additional stress due to the uncertainty.

There's a lot of it about mekon , no shame there. Fair play for raising it. The meds will work. Since late September I've been suffering from what I think is a re-occurrence of PTSD from last year after my mates fatal bike crash, the therapist told me it could re-occur at any time. It's a constant feeling of light-headedness, like I;m in a bit of a daze, I think it's anxiety but I'm not 100% sure. I sometimes feel disinterested and distracted in general, sometimes feel like crying but can't. Anxiety-Stress-Depression all seem to be linked, it's difficult to diagnose and frustrating for me trying to figure it out. Did you get any counselling? I'd recommend at least giving it a go. If it doesn't help then you've lost nothing but it will likely help.

My boys are 10.5 and almost 13 years old. We have always given them directions about what to do in an emergancy, plus they go to Cubs/Scouts which reinforces this. The lack of not knowing is stressful, but there's not a lot that we can do about it. I could tell her to take it easy, but because she's a stubborn Northerner, she won't listen to me; her argument is "take what easy"? It hit my youngest once I had turned up and took over; it overwhelmed him and he broke down. When our friend turned up to take the boys to her home, I gave them thing to do like pack overnight cloths, cloths for the next day, choose a teddy, a book etc. which focused them. Kids can surprise you and it warms the heart when they do!

I was watching Young Sheldon (The Big Bang prequel) one evening and a character on the show started singing John Dever's The Garden Song and it knocked me for six; when we buried my Dad, his Irish cousin sang this at his graveside and it was the first time that I'd heard it since then... I blubbed like a baby for the best part of 10 minutes and there was nothing that my wife could do to console me. On other days, I can look at his picture that i have on my fridge and it makes me smile.

The feeling just went away last year, I can't remember when but I think it lasted for around 3 months. Neilf, sounds terrible...hope all works out ok for your wife.

Grief is indeed a cunt. I find reminders about my daughter on a daily basis. On occasion it sparks a pleasant memory but mostly it just creates a wave of sadness. The worst thing is that as time goes on she just feels further and further away. I can cope with it most days but sometimes it gets overwhelming.

When you were a young cunt, old cunts gave the yoof a hard time for taking drugs. Now old cunts take even more drugs just to get through each day. We're living too long, need to bring a Logan's Run type ending to the table. 30?…that’s a wee bit too soon Pants!….maybe 60…now that I’m in my 61st year!!!
Ill take that if it meant fiddling with a young Jenny Agutter for a few months

Somehow missed this threads updates. Hope stuff is working out Neil and Beefus.
Someone at work recently collapsed and can't drive until theyve had MRI etc. At the moment the docs can't find anything they think is seriously wrong with her.
That light headed thing sounds familiar Beefus. I'd literally feel drunk some days with stress and then feel like my chest was being crushed but not somehow. Doc said it wasn't heart related and that's when I went on the anti depressants.
Tbh they are great at this point in time. They didn't affect my riding, just take my trigger temper away and make me able to think things through properly without bouncing from one thought to another. I definitely less of a cunt at the moment.

Well, my wife feels fine. She went for a follow up visit to Gloucester Royal yesterday and they have confirmed that she's had a seizure, which means a 6 month driving ban from the date of the seizure! Apparently this is standard practice for the DLVA, even with a positive MRI result. If she has another episoden, then the NHS classes this as epilepsy!

That's interesting Neil. A female friend was having mild seizures with no history of epilepsy. Doctor thought it was work-stress related. The situation improved at work and they seem to have stopped (although it could also be due to the meds).
I must admit I was slightly saddened that she hadn't taken one that time we both got pished and she wanked me off.

Well, epilepsy has been confirmed; My wife has had multiple seizures everyday since November and of the 40 or so different types, my wife has experiences about 20 of them on a regular basis! Reading through the symptoms, it makes you wonder how many of us are actually have seizures which don't result in an epileptic episode; www.nhs.uk/conditions/epilepsy/symptoms/The first one that she had was a tonic-clonic, which, luckily, has not been repeated. My wife is now on medication (lamotrigine) to help control the seizures. The neurologist has been slowly increasing the her dosage since before Christmas and from today, she is at the level where they are hoping the drugs will start having an effect. As with any drug, there are side effects; headaches, drowsiness, sleeping difficulties, nausea etc. Apparently one common side effect is an increased libido, my wife's case has sky rocketed. Neither of us are complaining in that respect and, as she says, "you have to take the rough with the smooth!".

Good to hear that she has been dignosed and is getting treatment. as for the "increased libido", I'm sure you will soldier on :-) It's a tough gig, but I'll manage somehow! The trigger for her epilepsy appears to be an early menopause! Her monthly cycles have been all over the place and this started before the new year. There are studies which show that post-menopausal women, who have epilepsy, suffer fewer seizures, but the menopause can last for a few months up to 15 years!
