I'd argue that he didn't even win that one title but was handed it when Celtic and Neil Lennon collectively imploded. He then went to Villa and got found out. That's it. I think Southgate will stay. Let's be honest, media hype aside, WC semi-final 2018 and Euro final 2020 isn't too shabby. I'd be very happy if that was Scotland.

I'd be very surprised if Southgate stayed. I suspect that he might think that he's taken them as far as he can and he'd maybe want to leave on his own terms rather than get humped out the door when the form dips.
You could also argue that his team flattered to deceive in Qatar. Yes they reached the quarter finals but they did so by beating Wales, Iran and Senegal. As soon as they came up against a decent team they failed to score from open play.
Nah, if it was me I'd be off. He'll have plenty of offers.

Incredible game. Decent 1st half and only one team in it. Soft penalty but brilliant goal by De Maria. Second half Argentina were time-wasting like fuck and then when France got their soft penalty they suddenly woke up. When Mbappe equalised the game just exploded and extra time was amazing end to end stuff. Brilliant saves and of course Messi had to score. Don't think the 3rd penalty was fair, what the fuck was he meant to do with his arm at that speed. Argentina definitely deserved it but France gave them some fright.
