Final race showdown, I can’t see Bagniai doing a Rossi but you never know. As long as he keeps FQ at close range the title is his.
M2, I’m going with Fernandez.

I guess the only exciting scenario is FQ 25 points and FB has to make sure he doesn't fall off. If anyone else is faster than Fabio it's game over.
People are making out it's unfair he's got so many Ducatis to beat but the dude did have a 91 point lead.

Ducati basically saved "The Show" for Dorna with their extra 4 bikes on the grid; imagine next year without them, plus the loss of 2x Yamahas and 2x Suzukis! Of the Ducati riders, I'd have preferred Miller for the title, but hey ho!

When was the last big thriller of a finale? 2015? 2006?
I think the points gap is too large for this to be a thriller.

It only isn't a thriller until someone fucks up! 2006 was a forgone conclusion in everyone's eyes, until Rossi dropped through the pack from pole and then crashed in Turn 2 on lap 2!

I was there between T1 and T2, you could feel the the dejection in the crowd and I saw quite a lot of people leaving. I think they went home to cry in their yellow pyjamas and conjure up the "Hayden didnt deserve the title because....." narrative. We, on the other hand, went to Cheste post-race and had a blast!

There was a lot of tension for the rest of the race given mr 10s penalty had pulled it out of the bag before. Then again if Pedrosa hadn't dive bombed him who knows what woudl have happened. Then again Rossi could still have beaten him.

I was there as well, between Turns 6 & 7 (the kink on the back straight). It was a great atmosphere, but I wanted Nicky to win the championship and was very please that Bayliss won the race.

I was at Catalunya that year, Gibernau & Pedrosa got wiped out at T1, then Pedrosa made the re start only to crash again, at that point the crowd just upped and left, you could take your pick of the discarded Pedrosa merch stuff on the floor ha. the other big memory of that day was the Aspar team 125s 1, 2, 3 . A & P Espagaro on the grid that race too.

Well shiiieetttt. FQ fastest and FB 16th. Not a great start for FB, maybe it is better to be the chaser?
I can imagine much to Phil's disgust, that team orders will be deployed if such a situation happens on Sunday.

I can imagine much to Phil's disgust, that team orders will be deployed if such a situation happens on Sunday. FB is nearly always steady in the 1st session. CotA, 13th, Barcelona 14th and PI 8th, at 3 FP1 sessions I picked at random. I can do the full season if you want. Maybe its because I do the MotoGP FRR competition I pay attention to what happens on Friday. I've dropped FB a few times after Friday then put him back in Saturday before Q. 0.6s down isnt cause for concern. Ducati have issued team orders, they asked any Ducati rider to win. It had some people up in arms on FB, until they realised that would be enough to give FB the title. It was tongue in cheek from Ducati bosses.

Marini fastest! Great result for Ducati, each one of their 8 riders has ended a timed session in first place at least once this season.
In fact if Marini gets pole tomorrow every Ducati rider will have had a pole in the season.
