Not the most exciting race. Don't really know what to say. Ivan on rail, felt a bit sorry for Oncu, but gave it a show.
Ogura lost the wc in Sepang.
Mgp. Binders race to the front. Says the bike was good. KTM have to do better next year. So do aprilia. Saw vinales back in last.
I think Suzuki will stop making bikes soon. Good to see Rins winning.

I don't think Suzuki will stop making normal bikes but I can't see them back in ICE motorsport now. The days of the GSXR look gone.

Can we remove Valencia from the calendar, or put it earlier in the season to get it out of the way?....doesn't do it for me. Viewing is ok, location is fine for access, plenty of accommodation in the area, weather is ok but can be a little cool in the mornings at that time of year, but the track layout is crap for MotoGP. BTSPort said they pay a premium for holding the last round. Better there than Qatar? If it wasnt held there, where else in November? PI gets unreliable weather at that time of year. Thailand/Sepang/Indonesia likewise with the rain. Maybe Jerez, but they seem to be struggling with money over the years. America? Argentina?

I though Moto3 was a great race. I think we saw the very best of Oncu yesterday, calculating and methodical, he's come a long way from the impetuous time bomb he started out as. I really wanted him to win it, but it was a fair and well fought victory by Guevara, so no complaints. Masia is a cock.
Moto 2 had a lot to refelct on apart from the obvious. Ogura really chucked away his chances in Malaysia, shame really as I would rather he'd have won the championship, but I suppose it's nice for Fernandez to have won, after all, his winning days are over now he's off to Tech 3 KTM. Pedro Acosta showing what awaits next year? Shame for Dixon because he overtook Vieti in the championship but Acosta took his place, so Dixon only got 6th. Still, not too shabby at all. If he can improve on that next year it will be good for his future. Shame about Alonso Lopez crashing, he has been a total revelation. Looking forward to seeing him do the full season next year.
Moto GP might be a bit "big" for Valencia but I don't think its out of place on the calendar. Everyone complians when Dorna sign up with Saudi Arabia of Kahzakstan for a race saying that there is no local interest and no atmosphere / spectators, but when they go to Valencia which has all that is missing in those places we complain that the circuit is old, small, boring etc. Tough crowd. Anyhoo, superb from Rins, let's hope Suzuki let him keep the bike now! Good to see Marc pushing to the limit without fear too. The championship was a foregone conclusion but hats off to Fabio and to Bagnaia for rolling up their sleeves and having a good battle. Aprilia have gone way off the boil. Will KTM be the bottom rung again next year or is that title going back to Aprilia?

Canet surely has one more year in Moto2 to do anything and then he's done?

Canet surely has one more year in Moto2 to do anything and then he's done? Judging by the fact that Lowes is going back for his 9th year I wouldn't say so. Canet's Moto 2 progression is 14th, 6th, 3rd. I'd say he's worth another few years!

I don't mind Valencia, it keeps the riders busy and the start finish straight is short which i like too, nothing worse than watching them go down long straights like Malasia, Misano or Qatar. Having said that the poor fuckers will probably need these long bits next season, 42 races is just too much, i can see it having a big effect on the racing by way of blokes playing the long game and taking less risk and so the action will be less hectic.

RE: Canet I kind of meant his ascension to Motogp. I don't think he'll get there now. That got me thinking, so I checked, and if Canet doesn't go the MotoGP he would be the only rider to finish 3rd in Moto2 that didn't do at least one season in MGP, so far all of them have*. *Lowes is s bit of an exception because he did his year in MGP before getting 3rd in Moto2, but still....

Not sure how managed to get third. My memory must be playing tricks as I just remember him binning it all the time.

So I noticed when checking the history of 3rd placed riders in Moto2, that even though all of them (prior to 2022) had at least a year on a MGP bike, this is also true for all the title winners.
But not for all the 2nd place finishers.
Without Googling or looking it up in old fashioned paper books; who is the only top 3 Moto2 championship finisher who never raced in MotoGP?
Answers on a postcard to an address of your choosing.
