My local roads had turned to softmush. Not that many people out and about though, not even nutter cyclists.

The Morning after those fires started we were in the pool and watching the float planes going back and forth from the local Barragems, i said to the missus....doesnt look good this, must be some fires somewhere. The woman who owns the cottage said fires get started deliberately to generate work for the fire services, anyway later it was on the news that at least two people were caught red handed starting fires. The fucking lunatics.

Most of these wildfires are of human origin but the news likes to ignore that bike because climate change.

Right, so we're clear, the wildfires that happen every time there's an extreme heat event are unconnected to the extreme heat event and only happen because arsonists can't be arsed until the sun comes out?
And climate change is all bollocks?
Is that about the size of your expert analysis?
Fuck me.

Typical Noodle strawman response. Just invents a counterargument to stuff I didn't even say.
Remember a few years ago when fires appeared to be breaking out all over Australia? Most (most, remember not all, not saying that) didn't actually start because of climate change. The climate change didn't take the petrol and matches. The climate change didn't put magnifying glasses in fields. You do get that right. It's possible that climate change then allows a more arid environment for fire to take hold. Following?
Some fires are started by eco-terrorists and just nutters to prove a point. I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter. If I was an arsonist I'd definitely be lighting fires during a hot period.....a)you can blame it on something else b)WHAT FUCKING ARSONIST STARTS A FIRE WHEN IT'S WET!
JESUS.

But anyways, the climate change thing ......i was looking down on the resevoirs as we flew in and thinking fuck me those waters are very low, i was expecting the fishing lake on the property to be a bit low but it was like one of those African wildlife programmes where you see fish wallowing in muddy water, a lake of around 150 metres is reduced to a pool around 40 ft diameter, no more than 2ft deep in the middle, half submerged Carp being attacked by Terrapins and Herons. The property owner said usually in winters you get a 2 or 3 day deluge then a few of days sunshine repeating itself keeping water levels topped up but the last decade its got drier, she reckons no more than 10 days rain in the last 2 years, none of it torrential, and she's had to reduce the flowers and shrubs around property to lessen the demand on the borehole supplying her water.

Well I hope none of those Just Stop Oil cunts who climbed onto a gantry on the M25 today are there on Sunday when I'm heading that way. Why don't they just leave them up there until they get thirsty and hungry?...then tell them they have to wait until the m-way is quiet, say 2- 3am, then bring them down?

Just to clear things Mekon, do you actually believe global warming is fact or a made up media type thing? Personally I'm on the side of the scientists on this subject. I also tend to believe that the planet earth is globe shaped. Just saying.

Oh Christ we'll have a former poster turning up in a minute losing his shit over a definition.
I'm open minded on 'man made global warming' but am fully accepting of 'man influenced global warming'.

Personally I'm just delighted that no correlation can be deduced between extreme heat events and wildfires despite wildfires increasing dramatically during extreme heat events. On climate change, there was an expectation that it would affect future generations but the effects of it are here for every cunt to see. There is more extreme weather globally. In the UK we seem to be setting temperature records regularly which indicates that summers are getting hotter. This In turn clearly drives arsonists to spunk £2.15 on a litre of fire juice and a box of Swan Vestas and burn everything using the sun as an alibi or something. We've properly fucked the place. www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/climate/climate-and-extreme-weather

I’m of the opinion that man has contributed to warming along with natural climate changes, but I think we have to dial back the hysteria …..the world isn’t going to end in 20 years and we need to stop setting unrealistic targets that won’t be met. The biggest polluters won’t stop polluting…

As an aside, travelling south near the Dartford crossing on Tuesday afternoon during Armageddeon time, one of the reasons the traffic slowed was a broken down hearse. Luckily, no stiff in the back.

By the way, remeber these? I only realised after reading this post that I have never seen anyone use these in Spain. I went to MotoGP at Donington once after they* had tarmacked the new bike park behind Redgate. It was a hot day, all the Rossi muppets in yellow t-shirts were the target of those irritating thunder flies. Everyone else was fly-free. A friend went and bought a different coloured t-shirt. On returning to the bike after, 100s of bikes had toppled over as side stands had sunk through the tarmac. It was like dominoes. * cheap labour and material people.
