So many hot kids coming up through the more influential Spanish and Italian routes though. Who came from WSB and really made it in GP. Bayliss never really got to grips apart from once, Edwards played a good wingman, Toseland kicked out early doors, Spies, another wingman but I guess injury really killed it but he was no Lorenzo. Rea did ok given what he was given - a bike he was told not to push and not to crash. We'll never know.
If Dorna are OK with no Brit in the main class I can't imagine they pull in much money from Turkish TV to twist team's arms. Chaz Davies said when he got put in that 250 team via Dorna arm twist, the owner wouldn't even speak to him.

Cracking Race1 and SP (for 2nd)....haven't seen Race2 yet. Kudo to Rea for that Race 1 win, battled hard and deserved it. Rinaldi needs to man up...In the words of a famous Italian GP rider..."theez eeez rrrrrracing, Michael"

Great to see Bautista back on the Ducati, he will never have a better chance of a WC.
I though Toprack looked good, Rinaldi whining was no worse than Redding's last year. I bet Scott would love to be close enough to anyone to get a bit of elbows or fairing bashing! Don't reckon he'll see the season out TBH.
Supersport with Aegerter and Balda was excellent.

BSB seemed to have sorted Redding out as he always seemed very pragmatic about a bad weekend or being taken out. Now he seems back to fragile Redding.
Clearly Bautista was on the shopping list anyway for Ducati so I wonder if Redding would have got the boot anyway. I can't imagine him and Baustista getting along in the same garage. Him to BMW is a bit of Lorenzo to Honda thing.
Sykes will be grinning.

Sykes left a championship winning bike & team for BMW because he didnt like playing second fiddle to Rea. Look how that panned out, a bad career move entirely preventable. At least he won the championship before he left. It makes Redding's decision to leave for BMW look a really bad one given Sykes' experience. Talking of Sykes, when he was in the PBM Kawasaki WSB team he didnt win much. Got the elbow, then Ironically, he won the next race after being informed. He got a reprieve when Kawasaki changed the team for its current one and they had a problem with injured racers for 2012, so signed Sykes. It took Crescent quite a long time to becoming a winning team but they got there in the end. Is the BMW really that bad, look at what Baz is doing. Will SMR finally step up or do BMW need a major team setup change like Kawasaki did? Is Muir just the manager but the factory supply the rest of the staff and hardware?

Sykes did say Redding wouldn't do jack shit on that bike though. Seems right so far.

It reminds me of the uber confident Rossi going to Ducati and fixing it in 15 minutes. That went well. Redding is a bit of a strange character and i guess we'll never know the real truth but last year when he cycled fuck knows how many miles to Aragon i think. How well do you think his team liked that stunt? Sykes is a renowned set up expert and he still couldn't get the tyres to last. IMO Redding will do nothing on that bike. I predict an injured VDM and Baz beating him on a regular basis.
