Looks like someone mucked up Baz' lap, then he carried on and got 10th whilst we had the adverts.

Yamaha look to have sharper brakes this year judging by Toprak's rear wheel height going into corners. Too much perhaps? Bautista looks fast again on the Ducati, no. He said he was quick, no. Will he stop saying no at the end of every sentence? No. Will he stop crashing? No. Rea looks to have a good pace as always.

Just noticed top BMW is Ukrainian Illia Mykhalchyk. They said he has a Ukrainian mother and Russian father and is from Kyiv. Nightmare situation at home but its going well at the track.

Well that was a great opener to the season.
Kudos to Rea & team for improving their bike. It looks on rails around tighter corners. Same for Bautista to put the past 2 years behind him. Toprak might have dropped off the pace at the end, but looking at the past 2 seasons his results there have been 6, 7, 8, 5, 7, 7, 3, 6, 6.
Hondas are better with their debut riders but still off the front runners pace.
Best BMW was 8th Mykhalchyk, not bad for a stand in rider. ELav beat Baz which was unexpected.

I think its all in Redding's head, when its not going well he cant work it out. His replacement team mate Ilya Mikhalchik is quicker than him at the moment, and that wont help him. That's the trouble with Scotty boy, when things aren't going to plan he shakes his head and plays the blame game. He did it plenty last year on the Ducati. He's going to shake himself dizzy riding the BMW. On the grid he said something like the other BMW's handled the issues on the limit better, but werent trying to push for the maximum potential like he was. I can believe the first part, but not the second. Early days, but needs to work out the issues.

Brilliant race 1. Good to see Bautista back at the sharp end but Rea seems to have got his shit together big time. Looking forward to tomorrow, the sprint race should be close as fuck. What about the last corner shenanigans in the supersport race. Unbelievable save.

Redding was in coping mode. Others faster because they arent riding to the max....ok.
That was a damn good race. Better than any of the the MotoGP rounds so far. If this front tyre thing is going to be season long issue then toprak may struggle to win.

New supersport was good as well. Not sure the field has closed up but it was still a good race.

Great weekend so far. Well apart from Baustista fucking off. Probably the most I've enjoyed a race for 2nd. Rinaldi needs to stop crying about racing though.

Well it's clear Rinaldi is the one who will yield when it really comes to it after that scrap. Baustista seemed very composed and seems totally at one with the bike at moment.
This is where Toprak may regret not potentially pushing to get Dovis ride. If he finishes behind an aging Rea and midpack GP rider Baustista then he doesn't look great compared to like of Canet and Acosta who are coming up.

Did you have Vietti down as a crasher today as well?

Yeah well, they were just putting on show for the Americans. Even Beaubier joined in.

Toprak was 10th at Aragon in his championship winning year, this year podiums. Where was his team mate? Early days but looking like a 3 way battle this year which has to be a good thing. Wonder if Sykes watched the race with a massive grin on his coupon.

I cant see Toprak regretting not getting Dovi or Binder's Yamaha. Dovi has qualified 15th once, Binder never that high. 9 points in 4 races between them. Have they got last year's title winning spec bikes?
