Crutchlow to Suzuki does seem to be a possibility... he has already stated that he may consider a factory ride, and there aren't many others available...
It would be interesting, but I would rather he stayed at Honda, but then in MM is going to block his progress, you can understand why he would take the risk.

It would be a shame for Sam Lowes to be kicked out; I know that factories and teams are expecting instant results these days, but it's his first year FFS and his engine is supposedly 2 generations behind his team mate's!

Rossi is blaming the 2017 bike for its turning. I was honestly expecting him and MV to blame Michelin, but they seem to be free of criticism at the moment. Both of them doing well in testing though... 24hrs too late! I think Vinales comments after qualifying on Saturday were along the lines that the bike was fine, what does that leave. Apparently riders are really restricted on what they are allowed to say about the tyres. Jules Ryder mentioned at previous GP that Vinales had already had a telling off for comments about tyres. Pathetic if you ask me. You should be allowed to talk about issues if they are a genuine problem. I agree Clipper that we need to get riders going through the smaller classes. Hopefully this British talent team will find some talented lad and not be some short lived venture that quietly gets forgotten about in a couple of years. Ironically our best rider came through supersport and SBK, where he was good was that he didn't stay in one class too long before he was off. As well as McPhee started I doubt there was anyone on this board that really thought he would be anywhere near the championship by the end of the season. He's a good rider but probably a level below Mir and a few others. It will be interesting to see how the talent cup goes. The concept is fantastic, bring it on, but for me the execution is where the difference will lie in terms of getting new talented Brits up the pointy end of GP. The series should allow talent to shine through, great. However, if they are taken from this series, and put in MotoGP Moto3, the chances are they will struggle. There seems no link through Junior World as things stand at the moment, and that makes the jump huge. For me it needs a feeder team in junior world (see racing steps for example) to truly be successful. It's early days yet so let's hope that will happen. Having spoken with people involved though, it does all seem a little up in the air still over how the whole system will operate, a little worrying considering the try outs are just a couple of months away, and people are already asking about availability next year.

Young riders need to go to Moto3 in CEV and the italian series after a season at home. Junior World / CEV one and the same thing No66. CIV is good but not quite got the depth of field. They have confused it now as there is FIM CEV (Junior World for Moto3) and RFME CEV, which is the Spanish national series and really what FIM CEV used to be several years ago! How to confuse things in one easy step! Write them in full and it's easy Campeonato Europa Velocidad (FIM one) Campeonato España Velocidad (RFME one) But of course they both get shortened....!

Once 600cc supersports die then what for Brits trying to come through on anything but the Spanish route?

Yeah, I meant the Spainsh nat moto3 champs or whatever it is now.
Need to get the mentality of the racing culture from the continent from early on.
Sitting at home racing BSB will not do it, need be on the track with 30 other cut throat spainish racers :-)

need be on the track with 30 other cut throat spainish racers :-) Sadly that seems to be the case. It pisses me off when I see Dorna saying that they want to get rid of the British dominance in WSB but then they, and Spanish tv, wet themselves when it's an all Spanish front row, or podium. But in the end it's a culture differences, here, a Moto3 Spanish win gets a photo of the rider of the sport section of a national news paper.

Wise words from a man who has never won a GP across any class and has only made the podium twice.
I like Lowes and from interviews I've seen I like his attitude towards this year. He needs more time on the Aprilia.

to be fair to esparagus, it doesn't really matter what he's done or not done in the past. they're happy with his performance now and they're not entirely happy with sam lowes. aleix is doing the decent thing and speaking up for sam when he could just keep schtum.

Espargaro also felt he was shat on when Suzuki dumped him, he heard of his departure from a mechanic and not a manager.

I dont rate him. I think he's at his max potential already. Yes, we know he can be fast in practice and qualifying. Would'nt surprise me if Aprilia drop him too at the drop of a hat if someone better comes along.

i don't really rate him either but he's had best results this season of 6th and 9th. i think he's had a blow up or two. crashed the rest. overall i can see how a factory would be fairly happy with that but yeah, a few more crashes and the team might be in talks to replace him too. lowes results go 18th DNF DNF 16th 14th 19th 19th. aprilia will probably argue the bike is better than that but from the outside it looks like aprilia are just half arse'ing it. at least on sam's side of the garage.

Personally, I would expect that Aprilia are more interested at the moment in lap times, race pace, how the bike works on what tyres etc - more than actual finishing results. Yes Sam's results on paper are terrible, but are they really looking for Championship points from him at this stage? I would be looking at his future potential, its too soon to judge a rookie on that bike this soon in the season. When I said wise words from Aleix, I meant I was agreeing with him, but hes not in any position to say otherwise. We're on the same page here, i think :-)
