Well that was a turn up for the books. Even Dovi said he won without pushing 100%...
It has been a long time since we saw Yamaha so lost... good for the championship though. Hats off to MM for staying on for the points.
I am impressed with Lorenzo's progress, it is probably the most linear / intelligent learning progress we have seen from anyone going to Ducati from another bike. Yes, it is slow, but it s consistently in the right direction, and little throwing it at the scenery.
Moto 2 was dull.

I got shot down on FB when someone said that it takes 3 years to learn the Ducati, and my response was "someone should tell Scott that"...
Just because we (most of us) are British, doesn't mean we have to blindly praise all the British riders FFS.
It seems that even he expects a tough challenge to stay on the Ducati.
Britain doesn't really need 3 or 4 bottom half runners anyway. I agree that Cal should continue. If anything screws up his chances for 2018 it will be his own doing, probably.
I can't comment on Lowes, I have no idea of the problems with Aprilia, if any, but I would be surprised if he stays, any M2 rider would take the offer just to be in the MGP category, even if the bike sucks.
Smith is a worker, that's why the teams like him. KTM need people like him (until the bike is up to speed, then they will drop him like a stone).
What we (the UK) need is to feed riders into GP through the smaller classes, not sending our WSS / WSB heroes to humiliation in GP. Trouble is we don't seem to have anyone at the moment, McPhee being the only shining star, but he is a bit hot and cold this season.

So what is the difference between satellite and factory Yams? It's either talent or machinery? It's more confusing because the leading winner is on a factory Yamaha. You'd think it would be an easy fix for them - satellite team running better - steal their data that weekend.

Rossi is blaming the 2017 bike for its turning.
I was honestly expecting him and MV to blame Michelin, but they seem to be free of criticism at the moment.
Both of them doing well in testing though... 24hrs too late!

Both of them doing well in testing though... 24hrs too late! I think Vinales comments after qualifying on Saturday were along the lines that the bike was fine, what does that leave. Apparently riders are really restricted on what they are allowed to say about the tyres. Jules Ryder mentioned at previous GP that Vinales had already had a telling off for comments about tyres. Pathetic if you ask me. You should be allowed to talk about issues if they are a genuine problem. I agree Clipper that we need to get riders going through the smaller classes. Hopefully this British talent team will find some talented lad and not be some short lived venture that quietly gets forgotten about in a couple of years. Ironically our best rider came through supersport and SBK, where he was good was that he didn't stay in one class too long before he was off. As well as McPhee started I doubt there was anyone on this board that really thought he would be anywhere near the championship by the end of the season. He's a good rider but probably a level below Mir and a few others.

Aprilia boss Romano Albesiano on rumours about Sam Lowes' seat for 2018: "It's very clear. We made a big investment with Sam. We are his first supporters and really hope he can quickly show some improvement. But at the same time we have to prepare next season in case this will not happen. So we are talking with some other riders because of this."

Dovi not having the same issues as the others when it comes to the tyres, stunning ride by him. Same for Marquez after all his crashes this weekend.

To be fair to Michelin, its not a universal problem. The Yamahas struggled with rear grip, the Hondas with front. This is more like it could have been the first year of Michelin return... Odd.

He'll need a shackletons high seat chair next.
Sorry, one for the older UK viewers that one.

Great win for Dovi and a mature ride by MM; got all of his crashing out of the way during FP & QP. Odd season so far, not one manufacturer is dominating, which keeps the racing interesting and the fans/viewers guessing.

Looking at other sites regarding the Aprilia bosses comments i wouldn't be surprised if the Iannone deal is virtually done. Motomatters is saying that Suzuki aren't too happy with Iannone anyway. Crutchlow to Suzuki i could see.
