Standard terrific moto3.
Standard disappointing moto2.
Ignoring the Repsol boys, bit of a shaken up main event.

Metronomic ride from DP...MM takes a good 20 points and a great 3rd place for JL...Gotta love Zarco, getting stuck in there on the first few laps....I thought he'd fall back as the race progressed but a solid 4th place.
Strange off from Mornidelli in M2, didn't look like he did anything different from previous laps. Impressive podium from Bagnaia.
Haven't seem M3 yet.....

Looking at last years times in isolation, Pedrosa's race time was 45'26.8, 2s quicker than last years winner. So did everyone else cock it up this year?

Don't know if anyone follows Dear George on Facebook, its basically a spoof page and piss take. This is a copy and paste job from yesterday.
Dear Gigi, Who is everyone’s big red sassy Daddy now? Who has rammed his Spartan spear into the guts of the doubting putas? Who has greased his hammer with the butter of victory and climbed onto the podium like a sexy speed-mamba? Me, Gigi. Me. Dani was so happy for me he even cried a little when they played my anthem. I like the Dwarf Puta. I will let him have this win. It’s what my friend The King would have wanted because the Dwarf Puta is Spain’s cute pet puppy. We all want to pat him and see him wag his happy little tail. He only pipped me by a mere 14 seconds. That is nothing, Gigi! One more lap and it would have been me on that top step. The Traitor Puta Marquez was finished. Half a lap more and I would have passed him. I was coming like a screaming screamer of screaming on those last two laps. If Carmelo had done as I asked and made the race one lap longer, it would have been very different. But it doesn’t matter. I have proved my greatness anyway. I think it was a good idea to inject me with wasp venom. It made that Crashing English Puta very quick in qualifying, and because you are wise, you knew putting wasps in my helmet would inspire me to greatness. And third place is pretty great. It is exactly like winning, but a bigger number and so it is maybe even better. Just like it was great and better learning the Yellow Puta rode backwards on his old Yamaha donkey to finish in stupid tenth place! Ha! Only old has-been losers finish in 10th place. Winners finish in third! Please call Matthias and tell him he doesn’t have to sell Ducati anymore. My victorious third place will ensure sales of Ducati well into the next decade. Tell him I am ready to sit for my sculpture to be made, but I think maybe we should wait until the next race. People will speak of my glorious conquest for centuries. I have done what everyone said could not be done. I have come third. Mine is the glory. Everybody must now shut-up. And tell Dovi to stop crying. I promise not to kick him into the toilet because he came badly fifth and shamed the team. He knows this is Sparta. And only women cry in Sparta. Are we testing the octopus today, Gigi? Love, George Shehata

No he's not; Hoppur said so As the commentary team said on BTSport, Zarco does not look like a rookie in the class. IMO, he's making the same kind of impact as Ben Spies did in 2010 when he entered MotoGP. Those first couple of laps were amazing to watch; I might even put an each way bet on him getting a podium at Le Mans! MotoGP was not an overly exciting race, but certainly an interesting one. Hats off to Pedrosa though; that was a masterclass in "race control". Not a good day for the factory Yamahas, especially Rossi; finishing 10th behind Viñales and both Tech3 M1s is a disastrous result for him. From the outside, it appears as though his side of the garage have yet to find a base setting for the 2017 bike. Moto3 was outstanding, but a nightmare for McPhee. Hopefully this result won't affect him too much. Moto2... snooze fest. As Droog said, using half a MotoGP engine shouldn't be too difficult for the factories, but the costs might be prohibitive and certainly much more than using the current CBR unit.

when you hear zarco being interviewed, he genuinely believes he can win. he's so focussed and knows what he is capable of. not in an arrogant way at all. he doesn't give a shit who's in front of him either. he sat rossi up in the early laps. then rossi put a move back on him that was designed to put zarco in his place. i thought he'd probably just follow rossi for a bit but a couple of corners later, zarco was back past. it's so good to see that.
made up for pedrosa.

Hoppur on suicide alert?
I wonder if Pedrosa and Lorenzo can actually become any sort of consistent threat. I'd actually like Pedrosa to gel with the bike again and take at least one title. Sounds like he has at least got a tyre compound that may work for him now.
Talent-wise, I think this is the best the series has been for ages. Not just one guy better than the rest, a variety of people you really couldn't rule out of win, even Tech 3.

Well said re Zarco. I spent the entire race waiting for Marc to make the pass, especially when he got it down to 0.9s with still 5 laps or so and also on the harder rear it looked inevitable. Exactly what Dani needed.

Pedrosa's 25th and 26th lap (of 27) were just 0.5s slower than his fastest lap of the race (lap 3).
Agree re Zarco, he put in a number of decent passes on a lot of people. After CotA Rossi said something like he had to find anther way of passing after that incident. I think he has. Roll on Le Mans.

Not too much to say about this one. Performances like this from Pedrosa are always as baffling as they are impressive. Why can't he click like this more often?
Rossi admitted they got the setup all wrong, but Vinales was nowhere near the front either, and Zarco was flattered by his tire gamble. So can we finally stop with the bullshit about the Honda being inferior? I mean, when you see that schmuck Crutchslow's face on TV as often as we have lately, you know the Honda is a pretty damn good package.
The most worrying aspect is that the Michelins still seem to be a mystery from week to week, and nobody wants to see the championship decided by tyres (or tires).
