Enjoyed M3...Canet literally threw it away!. 3 in a row for Morbidelli. Was that the famous turn 18 where MV binned it?....Rossi leading the championship, who'd have thought?!...

This weekend will be remembered for the 2 amazing saves more than the racing!
Baz and Nakarin are heroes!!
Didn't expect Viñales to fall, neither did he it seems. And I wouldn't have bet on Rossi leading the championship after this weekend either. Still, his Q was above average.
Amazing to see Lorenzo so happy with 9th... last of the GP17s...
And what happened with Kent? I see he has quit Kiefer....

Haven't seen M2. Any good? Fenati, riding with passion. Canet was on it, but the way the way Fenati did the first section VR, got to hand it to him, never gives up. Good to see DP up front, just wish he could win!

best outcome for the championship in my view. marquez was incredible. glad zarco wasn't put off by the name on the leathers and had a go at valentino. it was a tough move but rossi just kept it pinned and closed a half second gap on marc to practically nothing. rossi said '...the problem there was not Race Direction, the problem was Zarco. He’s very fast, he rides very well and has great potential but this isn’t Moto2 and if you want to overtake you overtake in a different way.' haaaa.

So now no Brits in Moto 2 world championship, that's not good!

Does anyone think that Rossi should maybe have had to drop a place back behind Zarco after gaining time by cutting the corner or was the 0.3 second penalty fair? It happens plenty of times where riders have to give back a place in the lower classes and Zarco`s pass was hard but fair.

I think that the "drop back a place" penalty is usually for riders who have gained a place by some illegal action. Rossi gained gound by running off track (when probably he could have / should have been able to stay within the confines of the track), but he didn't really gain a place.
In any case, it became very clear very quickly that Zarco didn't have the pace.

i think the 0.3 was fair. they had to give him something. zarco's was a failed attempt really and he was never 'through' for rossi to give the place back. fair play to him for trying though. too many in my view have come up behind valentino and decided against putting a move on him.

Zarco said that Rossi was slow out of the previous corner and saw an opportunity to pass, the trouble here was Rossi wasn't going to cede easily and really he should have, there was plenty of race left to regain the place, the bottom line is he wanted to close down the lead pair and didn't like Zarco mucking his plans up.
As usual though its the pot calling the kettle black.
Given how much better the Yamaha looked there, he really should have won that race.

I too hope Marquez takes the win, nothing against Vinales but I don't like boring dominant Doohan style title wins. Really? Going with a Doohan comparison already?

Not particularly great races but interesting for the championship in the top class. You would expect that Vinales will come out all guns blazing at Jerez.
I have always thought that Kent is a fragile character after comments from Hodgson a couple of years back insinuated that he's a pure confidence rider. Where does he go from here? Surely he can't go back to Moto3 again?

Kent has gone through all Moto 2 "brands" except SpeedUp now, and seems to bail if he doesn't get immediate results. Not sure what else is left for him at this stage. He might be burning bridges with all these "decisions". I think Poncharal was pissed when he left the Tech 3 Moto 2 team a few years back. Didn't he also ask to swap out his crew chief last year (who I believe was his crew chief in Moto 3)?

Thanks for the replies RE Rossi, i was only able to watch the race at a motorway service station on a small screen so it wasnt a clear cut view.
