Well Tom Sykes is 19th. Bird's face will be red as fuck. Even Bruno Brookes can't crack the top 10.

The top 3 after Silverstone were G Irwin, Ryde and Skinner. 6th, 12th and 13th. So Silverstone and/or FP1 not a indication of how its going to go this year. At least Haslam seems to have improved.

So what is going wrong with PBM? Have they replaced the pit team with YTS, lack of money for go faster bits, riders off the pace?

Maybe he just thought getting Sykes in was enough? On paper he's the best rider.

Fuck me that was tedious. The Bridewell charge was interesting but the rest of it wasn't. Same with 600 or whatever the fuck mashup it is now. I hope it's better tomorrow.

Think you're being a bit harsh Mekon. Oulton isn't a track that encourages mental moves, it's got some pretty solid scenery and is uber fast. I love watching them race there on superbikes with no electronic aids. There's a new order emerging this year and the old guard is getting kind of wopped by the young uns. Apart from Tommy Bridewell and his impressive carving through from 16th and maybe Brookes ìt was all about the new order. Brad has received a bit of a slagging for not fulfilling his potential but he fucking delivered big time and will take some stopping. Also think Rory is on an upwards projectory and just seem to get better and better without throwing it up the road. Taz is going to struggle to come back and compete but at least the showdown might be possible. As for messers Sykes and Haslam. Oh dear.

The problem seems to be universal in motorsport, it's the machinery mixed with fairly equal talent and you don't get much movement on track. The talent cup was good but that was because half the kids don't know their craft yet and are dumb enough to try stupid moves.

I also think last year was Jason O's big chance of a title and that is probably gone now. But, to quote Toprak. We shall see.

I can remember there being some good hard charges from the back of the grid at Oulton. Rymer (or was that Truxton), some others I cant remember who But they were all on the top bikes. These days there doesnt seem so much of a difference, teams cant go out and buy the ex WSB bike for loads of dosh and dominate. Thats a good thing. There have been some rubbish years in the past, like when Camier won on the Yam. Ray had a 2.7s lead when it was red flagged, but the next 4 were within 0.6s of each other. Compare that to 10 years ago and it seems closer racing. Lets compare times after full race. www.tsl-timing.com/event/121804/session/rc2sbk

On tracks like Oulton it's not about horse power either. These things are fucking monsters compared to 10 years ago and if you can achieve a balanced set up and preserve your tyres you have a chance. A good grid position is handy too. Donington is totally different and will probably bring Sykes, Haslam and Glen Irvine back into the mix.

I think if there wasnt a red flag in R1 there would have been more action in the remaining laps.
I've done a couple of track days there, once on a YZF750 and a GSXR1000 in 2004. If I had the throttle wide open, the GSXR was wheelying over the rise between the Foulston and Knickerbrook chicanes. Its a crazy place to ride around.

Shakey just said that Ray's Rich Energy OMG Team bought O'Halloran's 2021 bike, plus all the data. So they where it is fast and how to set it up.
Plus the confidence this year.

As for messers Sykes and Haslam. Oh dear. Haslam has turned things around. I think it was me threatening him from sacking from my fantasy team. His fastest laps were still 0.5s down, but he had consistent lap times throughout. Ray looking good, 2 wins so far. Glenn Irwin's wins at Silverstone looking like Silverstone unusual results, although these 2 tracks are chalk and cheese.

Aye, even the best fuck up there, Kenny Roberts lost control of a wheelie big style going through there, 76 i think.
