I know some of the locations are a bit of a mess but the competitors are still delivering.
The cross country skiing relay. Fuck that. I thought medics were needed seeing how fucked they were after their stint.
The short track ice skating relay. Fuck me, what a riot.

Its a bit of the shame that all the ice skating talk on the news is about the 15 year old girl Kamila Valieva and the drugs test. The other 2 Russians did some amazing stuff. Im not really into ice skating, but fucking hell, never mind all the jumpy spinny twirly stuff, how does she do this? Feet pointing different direction, get into a limbo position, reach over your head and touch the ice with both hands. This was from the silver medal winner.  |

The leader missed 2 of 5 shots and I thought he had fucked that with 2 penalty loops to ski, but then the others didnt hit the barn door* either. Blame was down to 16 mph varying 90 degrees in the gusts. For a bit of cross country skiing and shooting, its good entertainment. *The target range shooting distance is 50 m (55 yd). There are five circular shooting targets to be hit in each shooting round. When shooting in the prone position, the target diameter is 45 mm (1.8 in); when shooting in the standing position, the target diameter is 115 mm (4.5 in). |

Some reasons why the Russians are so good here. They are the only ones doing the high scoring jumps. Hard work & regime, production line of skinny teenagers, careers finished and sometimes damaged before they reach 20.
