He had a good ride from about 18th on the grid to 9th. After a few laps he was lapping about the same times as 5th a lot of the time.

Yeah, TSL were slow to get it up. Great result after so long off the bike. He had a 3rd there in his 600 stock days didn't he?

Another good ride by Niall on Sunday as well. Performance of the weekend goes to Dixon's crew who put his bike back together in less than an hour after his spill at the end of warm-up. I've heard 'closest showdown for years' a few times on the TV. It would actually be even closer under the old rules, 1st - 2nd 3 points (not 22) and 1st to 6th 46 points (not 54)

Dixon was brilliant in race one, never even got a warm up lap. Ride of the year for me.
Race two was just fantastic, hats off to Linfoot after his "slight technical" blow up in race one but Bradley Rae was mighty impressive on the Suzuki. A future star for sure.
Haslam is looking favourite now but maybe there's still a twist to come. Loving BSB

I was made up to see Niall front row being interviewed and then running so well. They get a bit of help but it really is dad and lad stuff.
As for Brad Ray, that was amazing. I've said it before but he's delivered in every class he's run.

I predicted at the start of this season that Brad would take a podium. He will obviously be moved into the Bennetts team next year which is a shame as I would like to see him moved onto the world stage for 2018.

Moto 2 is a big gamble unless you have serious financial backing. Look at Tarran, he was destroying the BSS field and he will likely have to come back and do it all again once he is dropped from the Moto 2 team for poor results. In hindsight, he would have been better staying put and riding the superbike in 2018. I'd rather see Bradley Ray go WSB. He is never going to get a MotoGP ride for 2018 so a year or two in WSB could launch him onto the world stage if he carries on with his current rate of progression.

That probably explains the glut of Brits in WSB, no sponsorship for Moto2 and too old for Moto3 once they have gone through STK600, BSS, STK1000, BSB or whatever route.

Yeah, I was a bit worried that WSB might scupper Brad's motogp dreams, but Cal got there okay.

+1 with Brad but I'd say pretty much the same for Dixon. Both should really be moving up to the world stage next year. Anytime I see a quick lad spending too long on streetbikes at home I think of Whitham. Dixon may not have the money but he has the support structure behind him to survive at world level.

Talking to Eugene I asked who he would least like to get JR's bike if he goes to Moto GP from a competition perspective, Bradley Ray was in his short list.
