"it’s a common way of getting into and around a corner quicker than just following the racing line."
Surely it's debatable if its actually quicker than keeping the wheels in line?
...

When performed properly like Toprak it's amazing to watch. Haga was another who was brilliant at it, also Craig Jones. Pointless on the road unless you're fond of hospital food.

I am in the category of never touching the back brake on the road. The only time use it is on a hill start.

i used to do it all the time to show off...and to mask the fact i was white dog shit at wheelies. it was simps on the SP-1. top of the revs in third say. hard on the brakes. slam it down two gears, snap the clutch out and it'd let go. didn't always need the rear brake. it wasn't a quicker way of doing anything but looked ace. that article is about backing it in, braking and corner entry. so they use a photo of valentino mid corner at sepang, spinning up.
