Your fuck is well and truly fucked. As is mine. What a stunner.

It's a looker! I'm just glad that Honda didn't roll out the Urban Tiger again; it wouldn't look right on that style of bike!

Some retro stuff just looks great, like that and, in my humble opinion the 2005 20th Anniversary GSXR 750, but other stuff looks shite.
Round the corner from my office there's a brand new Kawasaki Z900RS in Lawson colours and it is literally a dog's breakfast. Looks shite, a Zephyr painted up would be nicer.

Your fuck is well and truly fucked. As is mine. What a stunner. I prefer my Repsol. I've said it until I'm blue in the face, I can't get near the top end of my 11-plate, fuck knows why I'd want more power. Also, more top end tends to mean peak torque shoved further up the rev range which means less bottom and mid. Great if you're racing but fuck all use on the road. Having said that, it's certainly a looker and I doubt any cunt would be disappointed with it. Fascinating that peak power has virtually doubled in the 30 years since it came out.

Thats just gorgeous. With you on the power thing. Nice linear power with fat bottom end and mid range is so much better in the real world but it doesnt win WSBK.

I'm with elnoodle and armstrong on the power front, but then I am biased. I'm sure clipper will agree, but the most you'll ever, ever need on the road, from a sportsbikes pov, is a GSX-R750... and yes, I know that it's a cliche!

I've never had a 750 but the torque of a 1000 is perfect. Trundle along at 50mph in second gear then open it up and you're hitting 120 in seconds before realising that you're being a prick. Peak torque coming in at 7000 - 8000rpm is ideal. Nobody needs 200+hp on the road but, as Armie points out, these are built primarily for homologation.

I'd imagine this is all you need for road. Near 100hp and will handle like a bastard Mate is off to Teasdale's to have a test ride and but he's already regretting it as his house nag has already been on at him about 'it's a lot of money' even though she spends £330 a month on renting a BMW. He's already got a lockup for his business gear and is considering getting another to store a couple of bikes without his wife getting at him. Sounds like a good idea. I'm getting grief after I bought a digital piano 'is that to replace a keyboard you've already got?!?!' I'VE ONLY GOT 4 SO FUCK OFF!!!

We all know that 100bhp is more than enough for the road but other factors come into play...bike size, weight, riding requirements etc..and you can't always marry that to a smaller capacity bike. My bike has 85% of its torque at 3 to 4000rpm, grunt-tastic!
That 'Priller is a lovely bike, I bet it's a hoot to ride.
The Blade is a looker but the high 1st gear and high end power would be a pain in the ass unless you were on a track. If I was in the market for something like this I'd go for the S1000RR, a more "useable" sports bike.

I confess to finding it difficult to become "aroused" by a 4 stroke parallel twin pretending to be a sports bike. It reminds me too much of a GPz500S, a bike which should never have been graced with the name "GPz".
If they wanted to cut an RSV4 engine in half to make a midrange sports bike why didn't they at least make it a V Twin FFS? Then it would have shared at least something with the RS250 which everyone really wants.

The reason everyone raved about the k5 Gixer 1000 was the power delivery. Last one before Euro 3 leaned them out. If I had a dry garage I'd love a good K5/K6 Ktech'd up.

Paint it black with minimal gold decals and it would be a looker. The retro style decoration is hideous.

We all know that 100bhp is more than enough for the road... This is actually quite a contentious point. Do you mean 100 usable bhp or 100bhp peak? You're right in the sense that most of us barely use more than 100bhp but none of us are constantly bouncing it off the red line on the road so ideally a bike needs considerably more than 100bhp for that figure to be usable. A bike with a peak bhp of 150-180 and a healthy torque figure of about 80lbft bang in the upper middle of the midrange is perfect for fast road riding.
