I was under the impression that if the Taliban instigated or were found to support terrorist activities in Afghanistan, then this would break the withdrawal treaty and the US, plus their allies, were within their rights to wade back into the country! I know that the situation is lot more complicated then this, so I could be wrong?
TBH, the way in which the Afgan government roll over and let the Taliban walk all over them, what would happen if the Allies did go back in then left again further on down the line? In a way I see it as an utter waste of our resources and the lives of our troops, but what would be the future cost be with regards to the local population and Western/non-Muslim lives due to terrorist activities?
There will be some tough decisions ahead!

The county's natural resources were valued at 3 trillion USD ten years ago.
For the US to walk away from that gold mine (literally) would have been unthinkable only a few years ago. Is this a change in US foreign policy which will affect other "US interests"?
All it makes me think is that they have a new target for democracy deployment. Cuba maybe?

I think that version of the USA is dead. The 'Nicaragua' USA is long gone.
What I found most shocking was $83bn dollars of weapons and training the way of the Afghan army.
